A big thanks to the Chicago Circle Cutters for a great contest today.  The weatherman was right on the money with his forecast.  50-55 degrees, overcast, and about 3-5 mph winds.

Between rounds we were fed hot dogs, chips, donuts, cakes, fruit salad, and sloppy joes.  Well done guys.  The awards given out were very unique, thanks goes to Mike Schmitt for being the CD.

I'll post the scoreboard and then a picture of each winner from Basic Flight on up.

Darn! I should have gone. I got my ama license this year and everything. Looked like bad weather this morn so I stayed home. Haven't flown yet this year ( been years ) but I still would have entered. Wish there was a place to fly locally. I was planning on going to Sig also mainly to get a case or two of fuel but that went out the window. What days are the guys flying at Ned Brown? I think I only have a gallon or two of fuel left so I have to figure out what to do to get more. If the weather ever gets nice I will make the drive to ol neddy and bring my stooge in case no one is there. Feel the need to burn some fuel!

The Circle Cutters really did a great job running this event. It was extremely well organized and what a great group of people. I hope someday I will have enough skill to fly in it, but for now it's my son Mike. He did pretty well considering he's only been flying for a year. It was really great to meet Allen Brickhaus and many of the other contestants. Thanks again Allen for helping me with my oriental.

What days are the guys flying at Ned Brown?

Bruce, from what I understand Thursday afternoons and evenings are the big night out there, but it's probably hit or miss. I've been there a couple Thursdays and nobody there, so been flying in a nearby school yard after the after school stuff is done.

I agree with all the comments about the Circle Cutters putting on a great contest. As always their hospitality was great and second to none. The weather was just about perfect for flying, even though a bit on the cool side. The circles were absolutely in great shape, cut close and fairly smooth for grass. All in all, a great contest, hosted by a great bunch of guys and gals. Thanks to everyone for a great time.

A big thanks to Dennis Van Der Kuur, Mike Schmitt, Dick and Brad for providing critiques last week as I practiced.  Thanks for all the electric info Crist; the electric Cardinal flew better than ever.  I wish the plane looked better, unfortunately, it had to undergo emergency repairs from that inverted pancake last week! ;D

Thanks for the nice pics. y1  Kind of a light turnout?

Around here this entire spring it just won't quit raining and blowing long enough for any flying it seems. HB~>

You had better food and weather than we did at the NW Regionals, but we still had fun.

Thanks for the pictures.   Was in Topeka KS for the annual TOPClass contest.  Better turnout than last year, but the wind on Sunday my OT plane did not like.  Looks like you guys have a great site up there.
