Might there be a chance that Windy's "retirement" is just an April Fools gag?

I was not trying to be a source of gossip and it was not an April fools joke..
that was exactly what Windy replied in his email..

I too wish it wasn't so.

Thank you and God Bless

My guess is that it would be Dave Midgely who is his long time protege to take over things for Windy.

By his articles in CLW it didn't sound like it to me. Not having a buisness to mess with will probobly give him more time to fly .

Hey fellows, I think after reading the latest CLW, Windy is now ready to start doing what he has been wanting to do for a couple of years.  Fly when he wants to.   His article in CLW about ARF/ARC is really an eyeopener.  I still remember the statement he always used to the newbies:  "Keep it simple".   I have always liked the way he wrote his column in SN.  If he really thinks he can retire, he is in for a big surprise.   DOC Holliday

I just received this from Windy today.

"Hi,can you forward or post this from me explaining why site has been shut down?

I may not have been clear in saying I was RETIRING, Karyn is retiring June 1 2007 and were DOWNSIZING my hobby supply and video business. We will not be in the fuel dist business any longer but will continue all other products and videos. What will change is well be out of shop on more vacations, try to attend more away meets, and continue to develop more unique products for CONTROLINE STUNT. Its been 22 years and the website grew our business to where it was way too much for any one person, I'm going to be 62 this summer and need to slow down and spend less time in the shop. Our renovation is almost complete and its just beautiful, Ill post photos in about two weeks, only cabinet doors are still out having glass installed.

Everyones definition of RETIRING is a bit different, I got a lot of people contacting me wanting me to explain and I hope this does just that. Thanks for your patience and understanding over the years. Love Windy"

Mike
