Leester Built Privateer Maiden Flight
« on: March 22, 2015, 07:39:12 AM »
Got all my work done so went out to the field on a fairly chilly and slightly windy day to work on trimming planes and practice various stunts. I put the Privateer in the car and gave it a maiden flight to see what it will do. It was built by member Leester and was part of the group of planes picked up by Keith and Wayne.
It has an OS .40 powering it. I had to tighten up the motor mount screws after the flight but it sure felt good on the end of the lines. Potential there! Will add some more red to it and such.
Also ran some fuel through some engines I am breaking in and testing.
Thankee for watching my indulgence.

Thanks for posting!  Always fun H^^

When are you going to add to your schtick and fly 2 planes at one time, one in each hand--I know you're a juggler! H^^ H^^  I can just see it now, you could go on the road with that act and bring attention to Cl! y1

40S or FP 40?

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

I am uncertain on that. Looks like an FP but maybe Leester will chime in.

I did not supply an engine. I had a Lew Woolard Fox 40 in it.

Messing around with adding red to the Privateer. I just gotta jazz it up...
Laid down wide masking tape and drawing on. Getting some ideas just seeing it.
Want to do big letters. Been watching too many Windy footage.
I want to see a lot of red when I am flying it.

I pre-stuck it several times on flannel and will heat it when pulling up. Fingers crossed.
