« on: September 13, 2015, 06:11:11 PM »
My friend Steve's Hangar 9 .60 sized warbird ARF converted to CL with a 3 line bellcrank. Enjoy.

Nice looking P-40, and looks like it flies very well, not a heavy, wallering slug out on the line but flying on it's wings. Where have I seen this video before? It really looks familiar. I had Dusty out flying today practicing for possibly flying in our scale contest next weekend.

Thanks Dan,  This was a new video I shot today but I have other videos featuring this plane. It is slow of the line but once in the air it really floats. BTW Sam killed it today he put up 11 flights on his Twister and we attempted his first solo loops. I had to bail him out twice but we are making progress. He can do all the maneuvers for Basic flight except the loop, which we are trying to get down before the Huntersville contest. If he can learn the loop I will call this summers progress a win.

Don't push him too hard, Sam that is.  Steve is doing a great job flying that bird.  Looks like he put a lot of detail on it.

Doc, i'm not doin the pushing, he is! #^ #^ He is so intent on learning to fly like the "big guys" I can't slow him down. He wants very badly to be able to do everything. I'll keep cranking out planes and repairing them as long as it takes to get him there. We really enjoy our time together doing this. Something really clicked in him this summer with flying and I couldn't be happier. Thanks for your interest. Mike

Steve is flying the model really good. Models that size actually fly better than the smaller models. If he is up for contest flying he could fly the model at the Nats in Muncie in Fun Scale. ARF's do qualify for the builder the model rule so they can't be flown in Sport Scale.

We also fly CL scale here in St Louis at our Sept Contest which is happening next weekend
