Title: Wind Flying
Post by: Dennis Leonhardi on April 06, 2019, 12:26:29 PM
Just sold a Walter Umland (Sterling) T-Square kit and it brought back memories … I used replaceable motor mounts on mine back in the day; with it's rugged construction, the airplane survived lots of abuse thanks to replacements.

Is anyone having fun wind flying today?

Yeah!  I guess you could call it "wind flying"!  I just finished my weekly flying session with the gang and in a moment of "brain fart", hooked up my U-Really and spooled about 20' of line then fired up my OL' BLUE RINGMASTER with the old OS 40 r/c engine with 1/2 ounce of fuel in the tank running real rich and an 11x6 Master Airscrew for pullin' .  The first few laps were okay and when the engine finally did die, I kep' whipping it to keep it in the air for as long as I could.  Well, I guess I was able to make a couple more laps before it landed and I had to "take a knee" before I fell over laughing lika' mad man!!  All the other guys were cracking up too!!  What a ball!!  LL~ LL~
