Fellas, I go in the hospital on Monday and will be there for about a week and then I have some pretty extensive rehab on the new knee. Some of you I know have been through this and I have been told it is great once you get past the rehab stage and these replacements are pretty routine now for the docs. In case anyone posts something for me on here, would you all do me a favor and when you get the time just tell them I will off here for a while. I would certainly appreciate it. I do not want anyone to think I am ignoring them.
My wife has given me some pretty strict ground rules I have to stick to and she is Cajun and I DO NOT want to cross her. LOL.....
I am so very glad to hear that the YAK9 kits arrived safely and you all are pleased with them.
Be back when I can...

I'm in the 2nd week of rehab on a new knee too, yes, pretty intense and long term--3 to 6 mos. to full use they tell me. Worth it? Alternative wasn't very attractive either: increasing pain and more and more limits on physical activity.

Mike,
good luck with the knee, my sister is only 49 and had one replaced about a year ago- she was walking in a week, and did 3-4 months of rehab. she needs the other one done- but is holding off. Said she wait until it hurts as bad as re-hab, then she has nothing to do but improve!

Prayers and well wishes for your surgery! It will all be done before you know it. ;D

Mike the other side of rehab is better than the pain you have now. You have many prayers and your posts will be missed.

Mike, Ive had both knees replaced and I can't tell you how great it is to be able to walk without pain. The rehab can be tough, but do everything they you to do and all will be good. Best wishes to you and get back as soon as you can.

Just wanted all of you to know how much I appreciate your kind thoughts and well wishes. It is very much appreciated..

Hey Mike, ask the wife to get you a lap top so you can stay with us here on the forum. Also dont forget to take care of yourself and do not chase the pretty nurses all over the place.

Mike,
I fellow tennis buddy I know had a knee replacement. Three months and he was back on the court.
You have some good ideas and I hope you come through with them.
Best wishes for a quick recovery.

Happily, I don't have personal experience, but the cases I know of, the ones who really tackled the re-hab are very happy, the slackers are still in pain.

Be well and stay positive, The doc told me 1 or 2 more gout attacks and be headed down the same road, I will stretch it out as long as I can but all the noises my knee makes now I am starting to believe him. Maybe we can get a special one for CL flyers with a lazy Susan in it for easy spinning! Get back soon. God Bless You and Yours, T.J.

Hey Mike,
Best of luck with the knee surgery. My prayers for a complete recovery quickly.
Several of the Guys here in the Cholla Choppers have had this done and all are much better for it. None had any serious problems.
My wife had a hip replacement several years ago and it has been great for her.
All the best! We'll miss you here but will try to look out for any messages you might miss.

Range of motion is the big thing. Doc told me basically you get one shot...if you don't get it back within tht first 3 mos. you ain't gonna get it...so yeh, working hard at rehab. 3 wks after surgery, I'm 4 d. off straight and 110 d. bent. goals = 0 d. and 120. pretty good so far, 10 wks (+ or -) to go, still workin hard. Mike'll prolly do even better.

Good luck Mike.
Sounds like a positive move.
My buddy went from barely walking with a leg that looked like a kickstand, to hustling "local league hero" bowlers for cash.
Oh, and make sure you demand original Moog ball joints!
