Will it fit in an Opel Insignia wagon? I think "wagon" is "estate" in British English.
-
If you remove the outer wing panel, the answer is probably yes. When Joan had her Saturn (car), we drove to Clovis one year, with the Saturn (model) lying on the back seat with the outboard wing panel removed.
-
Definitely won't fit in a Prius. No way.

Didn't think "wagon" was politically correct any longer. Don't you have to call them crossovers LL~

Good Morning Howard;
Found a specifications chart on the Insignia at http://planer-motorshow.gmeuropearchive.info/shows/insignia/downloads/opel/en/pdf/EN_Insignia_TechData.pdf
According to that site/database, the following are the interior dimensions of the Insignia Sport Tourer (Estate/wagon):
Boot dimensions in mm (according to ECIE)
Length on floor to rear seat back 1,086
Length on floor with rear seat back folded forward 1,908
Width between wheel housings 1,030
Max. opening width 1,064
Opening height 684
regards,
Dave

Definitelly, I have megan wagon, and I travel always with 2 one piece Maxes on back seats with dismounted landing gears and foam separation or sleeping bag between them ... no problem at all :- ))
you will save lot of space if you dismount lower part of seats (that for sitting) ... question of second
Alex S. does it same way

Be safe and rent a VAN

Don't forget the model boxes have to go somewhere- I seem to recall an issue with that at the 2001 TT.

Opel reentered the American market? Or is it Renault?

I'd bet that Howard is pre-planning for Poland. Probably picking up a renta-wreck in Frankfurt. I was expecting him to rent another hotrod Skoda. LL~ Steve

Howard,, it depends on whether you are talking before or after Tim flies it,, ( or me for that matter LOL)
-
Unbolt the wings and it fits into the glovebox.
-
Couple of tie down straps will hold it down to the roof or back lid if it has a trunk.
-
A few years back I was looking for a plane hauler and a normal traveling vehicle (wife req). When I looked at a Ford Crown Victoria, I opened the trunk, assuming a model plane would fit. Nope.. I turned to the "salesman", who knew my last name and told him," hell you couldn't even put a dead body in there". He had a strange look on his face. I purchased a Chrysler Town and Country. It holds six big CLPA planes. H^^
So don't keep us in suspense! How many dead bodies can you fit in the trunk?

Tim who?
-
Ty,
If you fold them up, several dead bodies will fit in a Crown Vic's trunk. Need a plastic bag to put them in so you don't stain the trunk. Google body bags and you can probably find a source.

True enough, but I have seen "wagons" as we know them in the U.S. referred to as "shooting breaks" in Brit-produced magazines. In any case a shooting break would be a lot bigger and far more comfortable than the Opel you cite.

Howard, are you building a take apart or are you thinking about taking your current plane?
Derek

Take-apart. Upon arrival, I'd like to keep it together.

At least until you head back home. n~ :##
-
Yes Howard, we're all counting on you to keep it together. ;D
-
What about a Mercedes van. They're a knock off Chrysler mini, right.
-
Howard are you guys going to share a van or are you looking at renting a vehicle just for you?
What you really need is a JCT chauffeur
:-)

Not to forget the JCT Team "Bodyguards" in their spiffy uniforms as posted by Howard awhile back.
