Elwyn and I left Tulsa around 6:45 am on saturday, and arrived in Wichita around 9:45 am. The contest was already in session.
Racing was first on the agenda, and they ran both Class 2 Goodyear (scale race) and Goldberg. Class 2 was won by Dale Gleason, flying a Pole Cat powered by a Fox .15 Schneurle and 2nd place was won by Melvin Schuette flying a Lil Quickee also powered by a Fox .15 Schneurle. Goodyear was also won by Dale Gleason, flying a Fox .35 powered Shoestring, and second was won by Jeff Johnson also flying a Fox .35 powered Shoestring.
Classic stunt had one entry, Bob Brookins, flying an Oriental powered by a Brodak .40.
( He won!) Marvin Denny and I judged Classic.
Profile stunt had 3 entries:

3rd place: Bob Brookins Primary Force Silverfoxx .35

Afterwards, down at the combat circle, Cary Minor, Tom Stiegler, and Jeff Johnson were flying FAI combat. Elwyn and I left to go get a motel; we settled on another scenic super 8 motel.
We saw Jim and Lova Kraft! We were very happy to see them both again. Jim signed up to fly OTS on sunday.
Melvin and Brenda Schuette had about half of their inventory out for sale. They had:

and 4 sizes of bladder tubing.
Melvin also has a 12 volt battery powered cash register.
