Hey Gary Weaver; There's one for ya. Maybe you could use your jet engine. Show those Ruskies how it's really done. I think I saw this in a Roadrunner Coyote cartoon once. It didn't work to well for Coyote though.

I can see it now- hand throttle cable ices up,  motor stays at full revs, pround inventor fails to negotiate sharp turn and veers off trail at full speed. He then impacts
a. Car on street he suddenly finds himself trying to "drive" down,
b. tree branch
c. barb wire fence
d. his buddy who also made one of the devices

Impact causes him to fall backwards, spinning prop ( exposed on back side) lands on skis causing prop to shatter, and the screaming inventor who is strapped to entire device spins and bucks wildly as the engine/ prop stub continue to try and rotate with ski stuck through cage.

All this falling, spinning, bucking causes fuel line to seperate from chest mounted fuel tank- liberally dousing our Ski Stunt Pilot in flammable fluid. Engine finaly stops, but in it's last gasp- it backfires and set fuel on fire. Spinning, bucking screaming starts all over agian - without the assistance of the engine!

Hey Mikail- hold my vodka and watch this!!    Get 'er done!

Three observations:

1) This is the Russian version of the jet pack so yes, we did think of something like this:
2) The guy looks wobbly on skis. I take it he's never done downhill skiing. It was kind of funny to see him trying to turn. No pizza, no leanning. Oh and one of the boots was open.
3) This guy definitely knows what he's doing: the motor is not pointing straight back but upwards. This should help with launch and allow proper forward leaning stance once under way.

I'm impressed.

Somethings are best left un-thought of.  Or else, use a little uncommon sense.
