Who is he?

Since I took over the Next Generation column, I'd like to know who this is standing next to me.  I remember his first name is Danny I think, but that is all I know

       Matt, Dan was flying with Paul Smith and others. I believe a few were from Canada and some of the others were in the Michigan area. Dan is an excellent pilot. My son Shawn had his eye on him as well. They're the same age . Dan entered several events at Brodak's and competed very well. Ken

Dan Birks is from Toronto, and he celebrated his BIG 1-5 at the contest.

Also from the same area "Toronto & District" were his uncle Dave, Leonard Bourel, Stewart Henderson, Keith Morgan, Ken Towers, and Brad LaPointe.  All are members of both the Toronto Balsa Beavers and the Beanfield Flyers.

For those looking for some action in August, Brad is hosting The MAAC Canadian Nats at his "Brodak-like" private venue.   August 21-23, 2009.

Here's a more legible pitcher of Dan, and also one of Lenny Bourel, who made his "out of Ontario" debut with a 1st in Advanced CLPA in Carmichaels.

Just to clarify the record Daniel is 14 years old and lives in Mississauga Ontario Canada.  He flies with The Balsa Beavers in Toronto Canada.  Dan Turned 14 in June.  He has been flying for about four years. My name is Dave Relf and I am his step father. Dan loves to fly and the next contest for us will be the Canadian Nationals in August.

Hi Matt,

Robbie is in college.  I am expecting (hoping) to see him around, but it just might be a wait until he graduates kind of thing!

My oldest son (Aaron), Todd Lee, Robby Hunt and Derek Barry were all kinda buddies back in the day.  It was really great to see them all together!  (Todd, Robby, and Derek were all on World Championship teams!) Derek is the only one *right now* that is still heavily involved.  I do expect to see them all return, in some manner, before it is all over.  Life DOES get in the way sometimes.
