Who's heading to Brodak?
« on: April 29, 2010, 06:25:18 PM »
I may be early asking this, but Brodak is only 48 days away (6 weeks and 6 days)!!!  Today we got the new vehicle set up for carrying the planes to PA.

So...who's heading to Brodak???

I registered two nights ago, and am taking my Oriental Plus, the Ares, and grandpa's Black Tiger for OTS.  Grandpa is taking his Big Job, and he has three choices for the next plane and only one slot available.  It will be either his P-47, the P-40, or his Starfire (I have a feeling his Starfire will be going).

Only 5 planes?  You need a bigger vehicle or learn how to stack them.  One year going to Pawnee Rock KS to fly a two day contest with my son, Melvin and myself.  I had a Crysler station wagon.  We flew racing, combat, stunt and carrier.  Had 19 airplanes, with the pit boxes and the boxes for parts.  Of course JJ was only about 12 and set between Melvin and myself. Well as of now, 3 people are going to Brodak, me and the grandparents.  We are kind of looking around for a trailer so it would be a lot easier then having to take the whole second row out of the traverse, putting 4 planes there, I sit in the back with the planes and the black tiger is getting wrapped in bubble wrap, and stacked next to me.

We need a trailer...

Looks like we will clean house at Brodaks. Just you, your Grandpa, and two guys from the south will be at Brodaks this year.
Well maybe a few others.

This year will be my 4th adventure there!  I have had plane tickets for 4 months, motel reservations as well. I will be flying from Tri Cities WA to Detroit and dragging along Marc warwashanna from there.  This year I will only be entering Carrier but expect to hold on to my Brodak record of 7 entries and 7 last places so far.  I am the reigning last place Champion!  Will also be there to exchange barbs and set back International friendship between the U.S. and Austrailia once again! I will hopefully be able to help at the racing circle. On top of that, the real reason I go to the Brodak fly-In and enter, is to get my fill of the World's best potatoe salad at the picnic!

Joe Just

I am also hoping to have a Carrier plane or two available for an "after hours"  "give Carrier a try" flights for interested folks. (With John's permission of course)

I'm coming down from Boston, along with the usual cast of N.E.S.T characters.
Usual for them, anyway, this will be my 2nd Fly-In.

Planning to fly Classic, PA, Combat, maybe Profile.

hey Bob,

We're also staying at the Holiday Inn in Uniontown!!!

The ship is being repainted in the back, just need the black, and the clear, then put the motor back in and glue the hinges into the new elevators and it'll be ready to fly again!

You bringing the PA 75 United?

I have had plane tickets and motel reservations for months!  Yesterday I shipped two .15 carrier models to Detroit and will drive to Carmichaels from there with a good friend.  Marvin, hope you can make it.  The two planes will be given away (sans motors) at the conclusion of the Carier compitition.

So...who's heading to Brodak???

  . . .

Lots of folks missing here.

Nothing from any the Canadian (Beanfield?) gang (e.g. Kieth Morgan, Daniel Birk, . . .) a great bunch. They were all helpful, friendly, and supportive -- no matter what the weather or any other misfortune. Matt, you probably remember Daniel, about your age, but flew Intermediate last year (Us old guys hope he has moved up to Advanced   ;) ).

Hi Everybody, I'll be there this year and will be flying for the 14th year in a row! My re-replaced shoulder is working better than I had expected! I am a most grateful guy! Originally my surgeon had told me that I wouldn't be allowed to fly at all until August this year! I have worked very hard an faithfully on my rehabilitation and it has worked out well for me. Won't be flying PA though only Profile, OTS, and Nostalgia 30.

Am looking forward to seeing all of you there!

Matt,

I will be there on Monday, look forward to seeing you again. Not sure you remember me but I was the guy that told you not to be fooled by where the wind was coming from on the last round of PAMPA, as I was walking off the circle. I could have sword that the wind was coming from the opposite direction, almost lost my Tenacious and had to scrap the last flight......oh well. Anyway, you kicked my butt and I look forward to flying with you this year if you have not moved up to expert :)

This year I am all electric including my new tsunami PAMPA design. Still working on the trimming, it is really close and hope to have it flying like I want it by Brodak.  Safe travels and see you at Brodak

Hi Tim,

Now I know who gave me the tip in that wind.  Thanks a bunch for that!  I'm still in advanced for this year, but I am hoping to win, came in 5th last year, hopefully I'll be able to do a little better  :) .  That Tenacious was a cool looking airplane,a as well as this year's Tsunami.

The "Wrecking Crew" is made up of two of my closesest friends. Paul, I'm so glad that you and your son are entering.  It is with heavy heart that I see some of my favorite people going down in flames.
