Title: Who's going to Clovis?
Post by: Steve Helmick on October 20, 2008, 09:49:58 PM
Mike Haverly invited me to ride along in his pickup...new Michelins ~>...should be ok. I'm going to fly the "Profile Centennial" (see the picture) in Intermediate PA on Sunday, assuming it makes it through our practise stop. I wish it was the other one, but Jack Pitcher would "pitch a fit". Besides, my nerves wouldn't take it. But if you're going to be there, say "Howdy"!   y1 Steve

I am fixing to go.  It's a great contest.   I'm shining up the dog.

Practice sites are plentiful along I-5.  Salem is nice.  So is Woodland, if they haven't decommissioned it yet.

Howard:  Woodland is still available for practice.  I can meet you (or anyone else) there Thursday or Friday late morning/afternoon if you wish.  Just off I-5, come on down! #^

Hey Steve, I'll be there Sat. and Sun. If I can't find you, look for the only idiot that entered a Sig Mustang in Advanced stunt. That's me!

Hi guys,

I believe several fliers are going to come play on Friday with us at People's Church, here in Fresno. We have a nice circle there and you guys are welcome to come play. We have enough area to set up probably three circles. Just let one of the members of the PC Flyers in Fresno know if you want to play. I believe most of the guys are going to show up around noon. Contact Phil Juarez and let him know you're coming or post it here and I'll let him know.

Thank you
Gary

Is the PC available Saturday?

Hi Howard,

I don't believe we'll be able to fly there on Saturday. The fields will be loaded with soccer players, Sorry. Come bye Friday and play with the group. Phil Jaurez told me there should be several around noon, Gary (If you can throw Randy in the trunk and drag him over to the contest)

Hi guys,

Look forward to anyone that wants to come and fly with us on Friday at People's Church. We're a new chartered club in the Fresno Area. We're listed with AMA and all AMA rules apply.

PC Flyers
7172 N. Cedar Ave.
Fresno, CA 93720

Most know that you can use goole  map service to find us. Plenty of parking space, could make around six circles, if needed, Gary  (There is fast food within walking distance.)

Pete,

I think I'll fly at Woodland Sat. AM.  It depends on the weather and how far down I-5 we get Friday.

Thanks for the invitation.

Hi Chris,

You can add me to the list of SoCal flyers going to Clovis. I would not miss a chance to listen to more of Howard's great stories!

I wish you could be there Chris, but I guess you have to fly one of your 2,500,000 oz. planes instead? Maybe we could get Robert to show Boeing how to build them a little lighter?  :!

BTW: Do you sing the pilots briefing? You rock star you!  ;)

PS: Steve, and guys, please stop by and say hi. I will be the guy trying to "herd cats" as the classic circle pit boss on Sat and the guy with the battle scared "electric" P-40 on Sun.

Warm Regards,
Rudy

Rudy,
I've been off sick with cervical disc hernias for 3 months. I am forbidden to fly models or drive very far, by Laura.

Chris, you need to quit trying to carry those planes to the take off point.  Anyway take care of yourself.  DOC Holliday

Clovis weather looks sunny and warm.

Sorry to hear about your neck, Chris.  Paul Walker is out of service with the same problem.

Yeah...2,500,000 ounces is one of our lighter ones.

We have had one take off at 16,000,000 ounces a few years ago. The takeoff run may have been longer than usual.

If weight was not a issue why not make it weigh more? You are a engineer and I know you know this value. Its just to hard to do. I really don't care if everyone builds them at 80oz as some already do. I choose not to.
I respect your flying ability however I think you still put your pants on one leg at a time and don't walk on water.

Sparky...Calm down...I'm not talking about model planes.......Check the weights.....
2,500,000 ounces is 156,250 pounds.  A 737 is about that.
16,000,000 ounces is 1,000,000 pounds....The weight a 747 has left the ground at from Moses lake a few years ago.

I'm not arguing about MODEL weights.  Call off the dogs!

Jim Rhodes left SoCal today about 4:30 for Fresno after some $3.18 gas. He should be there. The Ukraine Team will be there about noon on Saturday.

Paul, I have been going to an interesting chiropracter that does not crack your bones but releases tensions in the muscles pulling your vertabrae out of adjustment. It's working, went from 8 vicodin a day to none in two treatments and the numbness and strength issues are abating.

I'm stuck on the 149,500 and 160,000 lbs MD-80 for about forever, that is after I get back to work!

Bob, I'm with you one a middle sized ship, have been for years. I went from 75oz to 64oz and now hope to have a 55 oz 40 ship on a pipe too. Derringer kit with a RoJett. You know I only give you a razz for your own good :D
How is Hajek, he never calls me back?

Wish I was flying, but it's been fun coaching Igor and Sergiy. SoCal has been hot and calm the last week. I'm missing the fun...
