1/2A pathfinder question..

When I get back from Pa. next week ,my 1/2A patherfinder kit should be here. For those that have built the 1/2A pathfinder, do I need anything special as a building board ? or will just a 36"flat shelf board be fine ?

I built mine on a flat board with no problems.  Hope you like yours as well as I like mine.  I have a Norvel .061 on it and use .008 X 52' lines.  Does the full pattern with ease.

The Baby Pathfinder will fly very well on lines from 52 to 55 feet, when powered with an engine such as the .061's currently in use.

Try to have the finished weight in the range of 12 to 14 oz's.

It was designed for a 1/2A engine, and though slightly larger engines can be used, I would discourage the practise. One of the reasons it flies so well, is the wing loading, combined with the right power.

You'll enjoy it, it is designed to build flat on a board. See if you can find one of those cieling tiles, about 2' X 4". Pins will stick into it, and help out.

I doubt if you would want to fly a 1/2 stunter on 55ft. lines. I would stay at 52 or shorter.

I have flown mine on 46' to 50' lines and I do not go above 50'. I prefer my 48's as it is a little faster and more predictable when windy.
