Shultzie....you got it...I got into that srunt kike by accident on vacation fl. keys in the 80s....flew it all day ..big wind...can you say combat feel?...anyway, as usual, bob overdid it and had 8th degree sunburn on the forehead!

I used to fly as an alternate with the Cutting Edge kite team...waaaaaaaaaay back in the early 90's. I got my friend and fellow Boeing co-worker,Rob Scribner addicted to kite flying so much that he finally quit his managers job at Boeing and started a bunch of kite shops until he retired and moved to Bend Ore where he runs a computer online sight.
Check out his fun business.. www.rangerrob.com/kiting.htm Rob and Sherry are soooo talented and fun to be around. We miss the greatly!
I shot most of these "glamor shots" of the team during our many many many many practice sessions. In truth many times...with 4 or 5 kites in the same window...things can get pretty exciting, costly and so times downright dangerous, especially when learning some new routines.
This next link: Is the video of the latest Cutting Edge Kite team's winning world cup flight. (Kinda boring on video...but really exciting if you are a part of the team.

Donny,
Don't think I've ever seen the tide that far out at the spit. Usually a narrow strip of beach. I park on the Wauna side. :)
-
PLEASE!? What is the background music?

That shot was taken last fall...on a -2.1 tide and actually even tonight there was the sand strip showing. I usually park by that tree that is on the south side...about mid span and at low tide...actually the sand bars are quite nice and level to fly off. If the wind is from the South southwest...it is a fantastical' place to fly.

What a nice beach. I Fly my kites at Rockaway beach in Oregon. We used to have a cabin on the beach there. I love the beach. It is always a photo opertunity. there is so much there ,all you have to do is look down. Kites are not a stunt ship but close enough.

Here's to the memories...Those were the days my Leo! Wish I was there, today.
Last summer...I flew my kite right here at this very spot!

Don:
My previous post about the background music might have conveyed the wrong message about it. I loved the music and would very much appreciate knowing what it is.
Thank you.

Greeting Pete!
I got that message...about the music...so I went to the source www.kitebox.com and left an E mail asking about that BEAUTIFUL HAUNTING MUSIC that was used on the SILVERFOX 2.5 standard kite video but no answer so far but after I typed this...I found that first message asking what music the Cutting Edge Kite Team used....
Feel free to E mail my good kite bud...Monica or Jim Barbers at www.cuttingedgekites.com or better yet...call Jim at the store on his 1-800 379-3109 toll free and ask...n' tell um' Shultzie his old Mystry Ballet partner sent ya!
That music sound awfully familiar...except that they are so used to cutting and pasting all kinds of music together for their ballet routines.

Thanks, Don. I will go to the source as you suggest.

Nice shot of the Twin Rocks. I must have a jillion of those big pebbles. The sunsets at Rodkaway are some of the best on the Oregon coast. Our Grandkids grew up there for at lest the last couple of generations.

Shultzie:
I got first three hours or so of stunt kite flying this afternoon on a HQ Yukon. Man, was it ever fun. I finally managed to get in a few loops and lazy eights and brought it home in one piece. I am hooked. From now one, there will be a kite in my car when I go to fly my CL models. When the wind gets too much for the models, I will get out the kite and keep on flying.
I found out there is a very nice kite shop in St. Augustine Beach about 25 minutes from my house. I visited there yesterday and wound up buying the Yukon. I also have the Nexus on order from Coastal. I am going to get together with the folks at the kite shop to get some pointers and most likely join up with their club.
This is just about as close to CL as you can get. Thanks for starting this thread. I would never have imagined that kites could be this much fun.

our cabin was a stones throw away from the Twinn Rocks(ha,a little humor there). We lived on Pacific a block away from the motel.1005 Pacific. the original cabin was some goverment project building that were sold after they got done usind them. I think the land an building was bought for about 10,000 and sold for close to 300,000.

Love that beautiful little kite of yours...Nice photos!
I have a small Prism 3D that flys great on one of my "Quad" handles. Nice thing about these small kites...it is easy to fly with comfort with the ukie single handle. (However fades...flickflacks....cascades etc...are a bit of a chore with only one hand. Need lots of slack on one line for those weird williys...but for simple pleasure.
Nothing beats hookin up a small duel line sport kite...put on the headsets for the mp-3 player and let your spirit soar and be one with the wind.
Good winds...to you! Tell my friends at www.kitebox.com hello and check out their really cool video links~ enjoy!
(here is a serious question that u really don't need to answer...but my wife just asked me if you too SHOWER WITH YOUR KITES? LL~ VD~ H^^

I am only 20 minutes drive from the ocean in Florida, and I though I was strange to shower with my scuba gear!
