Wheel collar question.

What is the size for a 1/16 wheel collar's set/grub screw ?
I'm looking to replace the screw with a longer one for connection to my flaps on a half A model.

Hard to say.  Depends on the brand.  If you have one in hand should be easy to determine by finding a known size screw that fits.

I have a hunch it's 2/56.  If not, you can rethread it to 2/56.  Otherwise you'll have a hard time getting the long bolt.  I'll measure one later today.

Take your wheel collar to your local Ace Hardware and go to the nuts and bolts section.   Mine is getting used to me showing up with something and going thru the drawers/bins.

The screw size in the 1/16 wheel collars I have, are #4-40 thread.

Where are most of you buying wheel collars these days?
The ones in arf's I think are metric and the quality is not so great.

DuBro stuff is usually of excellent quality and good value. Also, look at what is available from Central Hobby, Billings, MT.  Steve

  Dubro collars are nice, and Great Planes wheel collars are a bit better I think. The plating on them is better I think, and they take solder really well if you need to do that. I like the Great Planes 4-40 clevises also. I have seen DuBro clevis break from stress and fatigue far sooner that you would expect.
