What’s a good plane for ballon bust?

Anything that can fly stable. Something just a tad nose heavy. Something that has tough covering so the broken sticks don't tear up the covering that bad. Something expendable or easily repaired if you crash. Sometimes it depends on the rules you use. Jim Lee use to do VERY well with a gyrocopter at the Topeka club contests, where overall speed wasn't very important.

A lot of Balloon Bust Contests have been won by Ringmasters.

I even won a bunch with a Voodo and Fox combat special!

Something extremely strong, tough covering, very long prop preferred made out of some plastic material which doesn't break easily! I used to have a Goldberg Cosmic Wind with extra doublers up front with silk covering with which I broke the "Killer Bird" barrier in Baltimore, MD one summer day! They had two barriers one at the front of the balloons and one at the rear/exit point! I hit one and it broke! I got another go at the balloons!

I will mention again that you should check the rules for the event that you want to enter it in. Balloon bust is mentioned in the AMA rules but I don't know of any one club that holds the event that way. Some clubs figure speed into the event. As mentioned, we used to time 6 or 7 laps from take off, then turn the pilot loose to bust balloons. Speed was factored into your score. For our Jason Pearson Memorial Turkey Shoot, we have been using the old W.A.M. rig and their rules. Just take off, 6 minute time limit for how many you can bust. Jason's Dad donated the original W.A.M. equipment and we use that.
Too cold out for balloons any more this year!

What’s a good plane for ballon bust?

Any of your models that you care to destroy?

I don't think I'd suggest a Ringmaster though, seems a lot of them like to shed their wings on their own.  :)

I agree on a Ringmaster. flown slow or a Bi-Slob.  But I do not recommend using a Flite Streak. They are too fast and too maneuverable. Slow and steady does it on busting balloons. Been there done that. H^^ LL~

I think he just hit the stick on the last one but the balloon hit something sharp when it fell over. Close enough to count
