Weight and Bellcrank location

Since we have a culture thread it's that time of year to get a weight and bellcrank location thread started. Let'er rip tater chip

Yes.  Trying to lose some and either in or on the wing.  BiSlob is an exception where it needs to be in the fuse.

 My personal weight iis fine I am not overweight. Only one plane in the last 20 years was over weight, it was a looser from day one.
 Bellcrank location is going to bring up all the forum police. Some will spend a huge amount of words proving there personal favorite position for the bellcrank. Here is what I think,I will not defend it. I love this part { the bellcrank can be mounted anyplace and the plane will fly}

I weigh 4 lbs more than when my wife and I got married 50 years ago.  After my friend Ark and I  machined half a dozen bellcranks this summer I brought 2 home.  As far as location, they are in a drawer marked control system parts out in the shop.  One is slated for the new composite wing now under construction for next years model.

I carry my extra weight around my center section. That is to minimize the dreaded dumbbell effect but I am replying to this post so perhaps there remains some dumbbell effect. I generally put my bellcrank in the wing because that is where the plans show it. Same reason I put the motor on the front, the tail at the back and the wheels on the bottom!

Wheels on the Bottom?   Why didn't I think of that!   As for bellcrank location, I keep setting things down and forgetting where I put them so it could be anywhere.

Leave them up, it will be lighter after you land.    I am still trying to figure out why mine weighs the same when the battery is empty and where I put that bellcrank.

Be careful Bob. That Fancher guy once suggested adding weight to the middle of a Dolphin and that stirred up much bitterness from both stunt experts and animal activists.

LOL, that was a good one, John! 

He also added weight to a Tucker Special and made it better... according to him. My Tucker Special weighed 34 ounces all up and it flew fantastic. Maybe I should get it out and add some weight around the bellcrank - if we can now find the bellcrank.

Ahhhh.  Bubba, Bubba, Bubba!  Still in search of the zero oz stunter, I see.  Live long and prosper.  Eventually you'll get there! 

I understand NASA is developing zero ounce electrons if that's a help. 

Next they're going to try to figure out how to increase the zero ounce stunter's line tension from zero to...um...er...uh...what was that goal?  Oh, yeah, more than zero, that's it.  Almost forgot.

All kidding aside (well...almost) how much did that (Yet "another" Bubba Hunt first ever!!!) electric stunter weigh that you had at the Nats that long ago year and let me (and others) fly?

I find this "Culture" thing vulgar. And furthe more I no longer use bell cranks in any of my control line planes. Doing so would just prove too much "Old Hat"!  And concerning weight, I have personally lost nearly 85 pounds since doing so.
