So, time to place an order from Tower Hobby. But...I need to order enough to take advantage of the discounts based on order amount. Gee, I like those shiny spinners. I'll order one of those.
Order shows up...how could I have ordered a 2 1/2 inch spinner. I must have meant 1 1/2. What to do. Returning my error I will pay shipping and then have to order the same amount to keep my discount based on amount of sale. Then pay shipping for the replacement item. Sounds like a losing proposition to me. Well, I'll just keep it. But since I don' plan a full scale, what will I ever do with it.
Well, since I was building a new "scratch" and "whatever" kind of plane, why not modify it to use the humongous spinner. Meet the "Big Spin." HB~>

#^ Brain Fade ??? I just don't "fess-up"... :! LOL LOL

:'( Another "Brain Fade" last November at the El Dorado Ark contest, when I came out inverted from the reverse w/o I just kept going on inverted flight!! After about three, yes three, laps I thought "Hey this is the rev W/O NOT inverted flight, then I looked, and there was my brain in my left hand...!!!
OK, now who else...??? ~>

There is not enough space on this forum for all the brain fades I've had. By the way the spinner really sets that plane out or makes it look terrific or in reality it is a great looking plane. H^^

That kinda' reminds me of someone that designed their fuse around a 2 liter coke bottle bottom to be used as the cowl! LL~
Hey, Brain Fade is the red-headed step-sister of Necessity, the mother of invention! Nice job, Michael!! /DV

Well, now that we've seen the "Big Spin" it just wouldn't look right with a smaller spinner.
I like it!

Me had a case of brain fade this weekend. The bad thing is I have done this same thing before. It happens in high wind. I get through the triangles while all the time wondering how I am going to do the vertical maneuvers, and instead of doing the horizontal 8's, I go right in to the vertical 8, cause that is what I am concentrating on at the time. That's right, skip two relatively easy maneuvers, and go for the hard ones. I will say I got all of the corners in on the hour glass. Oh! the vertical 8 sucked, but I got through it without crashing.

I did precisely (almost) the same thing last weekend at the Signal Seekers Contest. It was breezy and I had some wind-up in the inside and outside loops so I moved the inside squatres a bit to the right to slow them down. I then thought (loosely applied here) I know where I will do my eights...... which I prompty went into...... I got done with the sq eight and looked at the judge (Bob McDonald) and shrugged..... He smiled and said "vertical eights".....I said.... wait this is a family site mw~ I didn't win....... ~>

Good thing I didn't know about that. I probably would have put another flight on the P-39 with a better needle. Nothing like a fat needle on a 62 ounce airplane. But, then again it was not worth the danger to my plane. I was surprised I flew as well as I did being I had not done a pattern since the last contest. H^^

Is there a difference between "brain fade" and "senior moment" ... other than the age of the person having it?
;D ::) S?P
