A local came to the NW Regionals with a Firecat that had been hanging on a garage wall for, apparently, decades. It came with a nice McCoy 35 redhead, and the spinner shown.
What is that spinner? It's cool looking, if heavy.
Edit: It's aluminum, and the end cap is threaded on, with a couple of holes that look to be 0.156" diameter going crossways so you can stick a stick in there and turn it. It definitely looks manufactured.

Is it metal or plastic? Up to the early 70's, Williams Brothers made plastic spinners like that. Then they changed the design to be more electric starter friendly. I have never seen one like that made of metal.

Genny-U-wine aluminium, albeit with a distinct "sat in a garage for decades" patina. With the nicest 40 TPI (or finer!) threads.

Tim, that spinner is most likely made by O.S around late 1950s. You are right with being heavy and relied on front face of prop to run true. Best to polish it and put it in a glass case. They were available here in OZ until early 1960s. Keil Kraft plastics were same design.

Told OS Did Them , Have Two Jap Ones , one came on an old OS Max 29 archelologial dig recovery ! other ' Donated ' by H.H. , Who Says OS .
These may well be METRIC . Herb notes they wobble as they fit over the prop .
However , If you dress the inside rear carefully flat & have adequate Prop Cut Outs , so it ONLY bears on the hub / Dosnt rock on the raised
leading edges , theyll run true .

Ive one I picked up , From the U S of A , . . .
The THREAD on this is DIFFERANT . The Nose is ROUNDED ( OS has point/peak ) . US tommy Bar Hole is Further Aft .
Thread Matches Kiel Kraft Plastic ( they also did alloy ) 1 3/4 N N Spinner . So Unlikely Metric . Theyre 1 3/4 o.d. .
And can be seen in Schaefrs Hallmark Pictures ! ( So THERES a MATCH ) .
Saw under ' Aluminum Spinner " on Google Pics / Ex Ebay ONCE . Think name began with 'C' three sylable ! ??? LL~

SO THERES DEFINATELY TWO SIMILAR . One OS metric , One USA rounded point . The Threads/ Caps ARE NOT interchangeable .
Would You put a picture on , with the side view inc. tightening bar hole , please . I will dig out the three I have & photothing too .
Would trade something far out & groovey for it , or purchase. If you have no need of it. Provideing its the round nose one .

Name was something like Cincinatti or Comorodre . :( Super Tigre did similar but more delicate 2 in. etc . )

Oh those turds, I've had them before.
They seem like a good idea until you have a mishap, and the threads gall together, and you break have the spinner up using the tommy bar to get the dome undone, so you can take the prop off!
They're made from fairly low grade cast aluminium, and so were a bit crumbly, and as Dallas says, rarely run true.
