What is this model?

My friend found this hanging in his garage and gave it to me.

Any idea what it is?

It has a Dooling 61 that appears to never have been run.

It's U-control, not monoline.

I am going to guess Hellrazor by George Fong. Can't find any old ads for this model but he was from the northeast coast area and did very well with this airplane.

Yeah, Hell Razor.  I actually had three of them in different class sizes A, B and C, in the late 1950's early 1960's.

K&B 19 Green head,  Dooling 29, and Dooling 61.  Not really competitive for the time but a lot of fun anyway.  Mine were all Monoline...actually good fliers, very stable and good speed trainers.  Also a couple of Dizzy Boys with ST29's that were marginally competitive but somewhat difficult to fly.

Yep, You're correct.
After I made the post, I looked in the bottom of the pan and I saw the words "HELL RAZOR" cast in.
I will run the engine in and eventually fly the plane.

Steady there Big Fellow! You may be surprised at how much slower your reflexes may be at this advanced age!!!!At my prime I was asked to fly a Mg. panned Rat with a rear vented K & B .40 in traffic with 3 other guys, that's four(4) up. Boy was I startled at how fast that thing went. I had to hustle up my mind to bring it up from being a quarter lap behind the plane! We placed and that was just fine with me! This was at a meet on Millville, NJ Never did that again. Lots 'o luck my friend. Please don't try to loop it!

Clean it up, check safety items, replace anything questionable, then bring it to Joe Nall for speed demo flight. Talk about getting their attention . Looks good , I have never heard a dooling run

i would think u would want to make at lest one test flight before trying to fly it in front of a lot of people  there is a knack to get speed ships out of a dolly ,and the Hell Razer had a small wing compaired to what is used today

I always liked the Hell Razor; there's an unbuilt 1/2-A Hell Razor Consolidated kit in the basement wiyh a Harters (Kurth) "Peanut" and Berkely "Whirlaway." The other two kits are more sophisticated, but I like the Hell Razor best. I see I had a scale O&R "Midget" .049 drawing from AM in the box. That engine is a screamer, and maybe I'll put the two together some day. The wing is missing, but I see that I have a balsa piece apparently of the same shape.

But BOB!!! How do you have friends who just drop off a huge value like a Dooling .61 at your doorstep?! That's some inheritance. The plane looks nice too.

Bob, first good flying day after KOI, we're gonna have to see this thing fly. Our little CL circle down by the south end of the runway has a post hole in the concrete center pad. I don't know if you even knew it was there since we always fly on the main runway. You might have to bring your own pole if you think you need one. Don't you guys that fly these things use a pole? David Smith doesn't, but he looks like he's leaning back on his heels during a flight.

My guess is that his model is from ~1950 since the Dooling sports a glow plug and has the spark ignition timing parts removed. It has external leadouts and a two line system. I wonder what paint was used since many speed flyers of the time used Dulux enamel...which was not fuel proof. Beautiful paint job BTW.

Of course to fly it you will need a take-off dolly (as mentioned in a previous post). Good luck with it.
