Title: What is the difference between a Tongue Muffler and a Chip Muffler?
Post by: frank mccune on April 19, 2019, 06:06:51 PM
          Hello All:

           As a begin the journey down  the road of muffler use, I would like to know what the difference is between the two.  I may have misused the terms in a previous post.

A corollary is, "What's the difference between a tongue on your shoulder and a chip on your shoulder?"

Too wordy Howard. Only one word was required and that would and should have been "None." RJ

Tongue = chip
Chip = tongue

The most common way to describe it is a Tongue Muffler. Not everyone understands what a Chip Muffler is (they are both the same thing) do yourself a favor and just refer to it as a Tongue Muffler and there will be less confusion. At least thats been my experience with it.
