I got to have my son home for Christmas for the first time in a while, along with my 22 month old grand daughter for her first "real" Christmas. Made Christmas morning a lot more like it used to be! Weather here is warmer than usual but with a bit of a sharp chill in the air. Still, Sean and I got out for a few flights and then took little Clara June McEntee to see the ducks at the local park pond. She herded them all over the place while I threw them bread scraps. Sean and I will go through the plans collection while he's home for some stuff for a project of his. In between we've been chasing Clara all over the house! Lots of movie and DVD watching . Lots of good food and we're getting ready to sit down to dinner right now. I got some presents, but the above was enough for a great Christmas for me!
Hope it was for all of you too!
MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

A compound line swagger, a state park sticker so I can go out and fly at bong.  A few aviation based books and a Dumas taylorcraft kit for electric RC.  Both my college age sons home....

I asked my wife if I could buy my own Christmas gift, an OS 25 to use on one of my 35 powered planes.  Later I bought an OS 35 by accident off the Ebay also, thought it was a 25.  I am really looking forward to trying the 25.

Guess I was a bad boy this year. Nothing under the tree, but I have the wife's present ready for her when she comes home.  Tree looks sad with nothing under it.

    C)   Twister  C/L stunt plane which will be the biggest one I've built, and with flaps.

Got back from delivering my daughter and grandkids back to Missouri and the wife says I got this for you for Christmas.  It is a steerix X4 mini drone.   No camera as a miniature camera would be too heavy.  Well we can play with it in the house.

A book called 'Neurotribes', which is all about autism and, although it doesn't tell me why I'm so weird, does at least confirm that plenty of others are at least as weird as I am!  Oh, and a Christmas card from a friend of my youth who says he's got the use of a field right next to his house, for flying control-line in - only trouble is, he hasn't held a handle for about 55 years, so I'm building him a KeilKraft 'Champ' basic trainer for an ancient Mills .75 diesel that hasn't been run for as long as he hasn't flown.  Should be fun!

The moaning was me figuring out that the adapter harness for my new stero for the pick-up had the wrong connector on it. I guess I should have checked that before spending an hour tinning, soldering, heat shrinking and bundling all those wires.....

Oh yeah- a new Glock 9mm in case the Feds come for my unregistered " tethered drones"!

My Fiancé bought me a Kimber 1911 45 caliber Semi Automatic pistol and a Blackhawk Quick-Draw holster.

Last year I bought her a 357 Magnum Ruger revolver and holster.
She will have her concealed carry permit soon.

Bought myself another McCoy .049 diesel to play with, and am waiting for the package to arrive.

Daughter gave me a new pair of leather (covered) Crocks to fly in, when she saw the ones I was wearing. The old ones look good on top, but the soles are worn completely smooth!  ;D

Nothing else model related.  :-[

Oldest daughter let me keep both her 45 autos to play with, while she went to Maui for a few months. Unfortunately, it's been too wet, and now too cold to go shooting since!  HB~>

Howard only wins because he used simple ways of making the carbon aerogel in various shapes and sizes ranging from bottle-stopper-size to tennis-ball-size and in this case, a spinner that has so little mass it does not add to the gyroscopic procession (or is it precession?)) of his engine

The material has a density of 0.16 milligrams per cubic centimeter, or about one-sixth the density of air, so it beats out previous world's lightest materials and is lighter than NASA's famed polymer-based aerogels

Good work Howard, but don't spin it over 10,550 RPM...or the covelent bond will fracture and you loose the aerodynamic advantage
