Happy New Years everyone from down here in New Zealand.
We here in will be the first to see in 2016 with only a little over 3 hours to go.
I've got a wonderful outlook from my campsite in a warm sunny spot. Was a nice 28 degrees (82f) today and expected the hotter tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a great night. I'll be enjoying mine with a few cold beers and some good company.

Happy new year to all.

Mountain bike riding and hiking with my family in Sedona. The desert is absolutely beautiful this time of year. Riding is great. Food is great. Being with my family is great.

Waiting for the sun to come out in Alpharetta, Georgia. It's been gray and cloudy plus some rain. "Sulk."
Looks like It's happening!
Can't wait to get back to Florida and the bench. Got the ARGO II to work on, the Gee Bee Z, and the Stuka.

Taking down Christmas lights and decorations that I missed today. There are always some hiding.
Happy New Year!

Sleeping...
Ditto.......

It's another 16 hours to wait here. I'll probably be sleeping when the clock turns over, but in about 26 hours I plan to be flying toy airplanes.
We expect 28 degrees, too, but not the same 28 degrees that you're seeing.

Watching OU beat Clemson...
American College Football for those down under!

I guess I'm getting old, with temps in the 20's and snow/ice on the ground, will stay up long enough to see another new year and spend the day hopefully in the warm shop.
-
Watching football and napping. I have not been in the shop in two weeks now and haven't missed it. Things may be changing for me.

Wife an I used to be really big on zooming around to various friends parties and ending up at a VFW for the big moment.... we would alternate being sober each year
BUT, even sober, at 1~2 am of the new year came with too many risks from being tired, other drunks, or the local PD stopping EVERY BODY for a no refusal harassment...so we have stayed home the last 10 years with our own bottle of booze and champagne
I am a big fireworks nut case. I usually have every form of (illegal IN MY county) commercial bought ground and aerial explosives.
I can usually do a fairly impressive 10 to 15 min rocket, mortar launching- followed by a 80 foot roll of 10,000 + Black Cat crackers tied to 10 sets of 300 round whistling Pete mini rockets that lasts a LOUD 21 minuets. This drives all neighbor hood kids outside and the dogs all under a bed some where.
I may be forced some day to quit this fun as PETA sez I hurt dogs, and some Veterans complain that I provoke their PTSD fears....
So Far-- not in my Rural neighborhood
Happy New Year every one!

Probably fly my "Hobo" , watch Dave Ek "fly" the latest version of the famous ceiling fan, then we all go to Chubby's to eat.
-
On New Years Day I'm going flying with my Diva & Olympus. The rest of 2016 I'm finishing the trim & clear on my new plane , working on another wing & fuse for another plane , hitting a few local contests this year ( no Muncie for me ) . Not to mention maybe starting my long awaited Continental.

Ginny and I will be watching a movie (Netflix provided nearly 2000 of my choices in the past 5 years). Then to bed and say a prayer of thanks for it being 2016 and Obama's last year!

Staying off the roads & highways, because tonight is "Amateur Night". Will have a few beers and be sound asleep long before midnight. (Also giving thanks that '16 is Obama's final year!)

Careful Mike........remember........no political remarks on this site.......after all, politics and government have nothing to do with our toy airplanes or even everyday life between flying sessions for that matter......at least some around here like to insist that is the case.......but of course, they are dead wrong. Spent this morning raking leaves and this afternoon sanding on my latest project, a Stiletto. Same thing tomorrow unless the wind lets up then I'll put a couple flights after the frost melts.

Randy.
That sounds like a splendid way to see in the new year. I finished my bottle of Glenfiddich on Christmas Day so had to settle for some ice cold Carslberg instead.

Well now we are into the new year, will be heading to bed. Then hopefully getting to work on planes.

The wind kicked up the middle of yesterday, so I went out to Delta Park and did not fly. In retrospect, I wish that I'd brought something junky that I wouldn't have minded splatting and gone and put it up in the air. Three people did bring planes that they didn't mind splatting, and put in successful flights. Bully to them!
Oh well.
(It wasn't just wind -- it was trees blowing down into power lines and across roads sort of wind. You know -- wind-wind, not just wind.)

I got to fly my RM tri45 triplane today. Brand new magnum 52 four stroke. First flight on that engine. I would have to say a little too much engine, but it felt great in the air

I just got back from Georgia. Cold, gray, rain and no sun.
Am I glad to be back in the Sunshine State.
Looking forward to digging into my current builds.
ARGO II, Gee Bee Z, and the Stuka tank buster.
That will keep me busy.
