What engine for this plane

I think this is a Tomahawk was wondering what engine was it designed around. Thanks

An LA.25 or Brodak .25 would be plenty of engine for it. I don't know for sure, but it was probably designed around a Fox .29 or .35.

A friend flies his Tomahawk with a Brodak .25 and it performs very nicely -- plenty of power.  FWIW, that doesn't look much like a Tomahawk.

Ah,  the new version of the old Veco Tomahawk.   I had the original back in the day flown with McCoy Redhead .35,  K&B Greenhead .35 as well as the old Fox .35 Stunt.   The new version was my sons plane with an old wore out Supertigre .35.  Any of todays .25's should fly it fine, if kept straight and light.

IIRC,  Veco probably said ".19-.35".  I am thinking it was shown with the plain bearing Veco .19.  I would probably use a LA .25 or Brodak .25., or a '57 Fox .25.

I fly my "1st" version Veco Tomahawk with an OS .20FP BBTU.  A Veco .19BB would probably be a good choice, also.

         I fly mine with a Fox.35 on the nose and its a bit twitchy in the tail. I personally love the plane. I also own the baby version which is my favorite 1/2 a plane ever. Dumas kitted the plane. Truly some very nice designs .  As noted above it has the Galaxy look in the picture. When seen in person the fuse is much longer than the Galaxy. The angled wingtips though are very similar. Ken

It's not the tail or wing tip of the Brodak Tomahawk. On my plans it says the span is 40" and 330sq. What is this planes wing span

Hi Steve,   the pictures and plans show the new Tomahawk.  I won a kit of the Original Tomahawk Brodak kit off the bay.  When I got it I was disappointed as the box had the plans and wood for the new one.  Not what was on the box.  I contacted Brodak about this and was sent the kit of the original Tomahawk.  He stated a few got out with the new version in the box.  I paid for it so I could have both.  Even the Tom-Tom was changed thru the years.  It was the built up version of the Tomahawk.  To me they are great sport flying planes.

John when did you get it. I ordered the tomahawk and sporthawk, in April and they look the same. The Tomahawk is the old style.

Isn't the Sportawk a Dare kit?  My Brodak kits came a couple of years ago.

Ya the sporthawk is a dare kit. This was so Samantha and I would have the same plane. The Sporthawk is just a bigger Tomahawk
