Paul,
I buy a lot of stuff from HF.  I don't recommend their air compressors.

I had that same model for 10+ years until recently it got a pin hole in the tank. I bought a new one and fixed the old one and gave it away. Paid $90 for it 10 years ago. I ran it a lot.

Weirdly, that looks just like a compressor.

With only an 8 gallon tank it will probably run often while spraying anything for continuous amounts of time.  Just a thought.

I have had one like that for quite a few years from HF.  It has done the job I wanted, even using dope.   Yes it does run more often than a bigger compressor/tank set up.   But, so far the neighbors have not complained about the noise.    For smaller jobs I use my air brush setup.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but it appears to be belt driven (which is good) - no matter what you get, I HIGHLY recommend against getting an "OIL LESS" version....extremely noisy and they do not last long.

It says it's "direct drive", which I'd think would be a lot quieter than belts. It's 120v., which is what I was looking for. I'd say that IF it's made in USA, buy it. If it isn't, I wouldn't pay for it, but I would haul it home if it was free.  y1 Steve

Direct drive. The larger ones motor runs faster than the smaller 8 gallon one I had for many years. It brings the tank up to 120+Lb faster than the small one did.

Something to consider. Most of those cheap compressor are not ASME rated. You do not want to have an air tank blow up. Make sure to get a rated tank. ASME are OSHA required for all industrial uses.
