Title: What Airplane Fits This?
Post by: Christopher Root on March 28, 2018, 01:47:29 PM
What airplane would work with this?  My preference: something simple and easy to build, from a kit.  Looks like a K and B Torpedo .29

What you have is a K&B Series 64 29R Speed engine. I guess you could put it on a Flite Streak and have some fun. Maybe a 9 x 7 prop on crankcase pressure. Don't expect it to behave like a sport engine.

What would work with that is something you want to go really fast!  Speed guys will let you know.

Yep. I'll send you some Kansas twister plans, or something similar. I'm sure I got a speed pan and a bell crank. We can set you up real good for that thing.

Count Clipper. A kit will be hard to find but plans are available. Builds easy. Outerzone lists the plan as does the AMA Plans Service (#28495, $13 + postage).

High pitch prop & tourque would make the left float dig in , so easier to fly clockwise or use contra props .  ;D LL~ S?P

the rear venturi wont leave much room for a tank on a flight streak

Details. There's plenty of room in the wing.

You could put it on a Quickie Rat and go fast just for fun. Pat King (PDK LLC) sells kits. They are about as simple as it gets!

If you just want to fly for fun the "Quickie Rat" thing is about the best idea.  Be aware that the engine is built to turn high REVS on a small prop and a pressurized fuel system of some type.

Might be fun but it will likely be a pain in the tushy to get together and going! There are Rat Racer and Speed folks around that can help with advice.

Bill Bischoff and Bob Whitney above would be two likely candidates to listen closely to!

Sell the engine and pick up an OS Max FP or LA and build a Ringmaster from RSM

If that 29 is like the K&B 35 of the same period, the crank shaft will leave you for parts unknown if you do any aerobatics with it.  It is a speed engine. D>K

Put the tank on the inside surface of the fuse.  Plenty of room then.
