What about those CYCLONE PROPS ?

I have never seen a TT Cyclone prop. How woudl they compare to a APC?

Anyone have a picture?

Paul...here's a picture. They look pretty much like a Tornado nylon or old wood Power Prop, but they don't fly like either! For the .40LA, XLS .36 and Brodak .40, the 11 x 4.5 is very close to awesome! Pete Peterson has changed his "Venus" from a $30 CF Phelps prop to the TT ($2). It's got the B.40 in it. Don't be afraid to trim one down, either. I've also used a 12.5 x 5.5 on my ST G.51...for just a few flights. It shows promise, but I think it needs clipping down for that particular G.51...which has been mired down at Tom Lay's being rehabbed... HB~> Steve

Not that it really means anything but I run the 12.5 X 5.5 on my stock (except for Bowman ring) G51 in a 56 ounce Skylark and it does great as long as I don't feed it over 20% oil. At first I was cutting them down to 12 but discovered I didn't really need to. Engine 4 strokes most of the flight with just a beep at the top of the verticals.

I went over to Garf's site to read his thread. He was just showing that the Cyclone's break just like a APC. LL~

I think I am going to get a bag of these props.

Definately not a failure. That was the result of a crash. I thought someone might want to see the inside of the prop. So far, that is the only one I have managed to break.

Let me know what size you want, I'll give you one.  I would have pulled out my Skyray on Sunday if I didn't have to leave.  It has 1.  I think I also have 1 on the FS trainer.

For smaller engines, the 9X4.5 is a good replacement for the APC 9X4.  I have used them on FP20s and Brodak 25s with good results.  They are a bit lighter than the APC and the holes for the crankshaft are centered unlike many of the APC 9X4.  You will have to ream out the hole slightly to fit the 1/4" shaft.
