What a time to live in
« on: October 17, 2008, 08:10:39 PM »
Who would really like to go back to the old days when we had to rely on the postal system or phone to order anything.  Just this week ordered laser parts(Artic Fox) from Action Hobbies.  Got the parts yesterday.  Then yesterday(Thursday) ordered stuff from MECOA.  Email today saying stuff is on its way with tracking number.  Of course paying on line helps a lot.   This computor age is getting better.  I am getting where I don't carry much cash anymore.  Now to clear a place to start the plane.  Having fun,  DOC Holliday

PS:Forgot to mention all the photos that Keith & Elwyn have sent me.  jeh

Wow, how old does that make me (us) when "the old days" refers to pre-Internet??! I still remember pre-TV!

I agree there is no comparison in ordering on the internet and the old way of doing business. When everything was done by mail it was not uncommon to wait three weeks to get an order from places like AHC (American Hobby Center) in New York (as I recall). Another plus is that you can get more information about a plane in a matter of minutes, than you could have ever found back then.

I don't carry as much cash as I used to either, but for a different reason LL~ LL~

Ya Doc, I remember the old datys and orders I sent that I never got what I paid for and the only way you got information was by word of mouth from some friend that knew everthing. Now if you need a set of plans you can get them by e-mail and take them to a copy center and have them printed. Or you can have your plans copied on a disk and take it to a copy center. Everything is faster except me. Hey Doc, Hope you have fun with the Fox. HB~> HB~> HB~>
