Has anyone else had problems with Norvel/NV?
« on: May 27, 2011, 08:24:55 AM »
I ordered a Norvel/NV- a B7R to be exact- from 'klondike17' on e*ay.
The transaction was completed via P*y*al on Jan 28 2011.
Unfortunately I made two serious errors. At his request, "to save him the PP commissions" I paid the money as a Personal Gift. I also declined the high $17 for insurance on top of the $10 shipping which seemed extortionate relative to the value of the goods. BIG MISTAKES.
As of today I am still awaiting arrival of my B7R. What I do have is the documentation.
I notice that 'klondike17' is also trading as 'honestguy09' on e*ay.
Maybe I'm the only unlucky one.

Get a hold of PayPal and E-Bay with your documentation.  I got a refind of all expenses for an item I wanted for my grandson.  After sending E-Mails to the person for several months finally got a reply that they had personal problems in the family and have no record of my purchase.  I got on PayPal and E-Bay to check.  Contacted them with the dates, item number and transaction number.  Got my money refunded and the person is probably under another name as they are not on Ebay any more.

Myself as a seller misplaced an item that was sold.  Sent E-mail to buyer and asked if he could wait til I located where I misplaced the item.  After two weeks I refunded his money.   Needless to say I did find the item a week later and sent it to him anyway as it was going in the trash.  Postage was more than the cost of the item.   LL~ LL~

Thanks for the comments John.
Unfortunately I negated my potential claim by sending the money as a Personal Gift as opposed to Paying for Services. As I understand it, under those circumstances I have no protection. Live & learn.

Tom, have you contacted him directly?. He usually responds very quickly. I know of others that have recently used his services and he's been more than helpful. The items arrived quickly and as described.  I recently requested the price list of the stocked items and had it within 2 hours. Ken

Yes Kenneth, I have- many times until he stopped responding.
Once I had realized that the situation wasn't going anywhere I asked, several times, for a sight of proof that the package had entered the U.S. Mail system. After repeated statements that it had been mailed & that nothing further could be done I gave up. Until now.

Sad to say but it might be lost in the US mail system. I have ordered things from Tower that never made it. Just not too long ago some some on the forum mailed me a muffler.  It never showed up. If he put the NVA in a envelop chances are good it got hung in there equipment. I had a guy mail me some screws once.  Got the envelop but it had a tear in it and one of the screws was missing.
Just some food for thought.

I'm truly amazed actually that a lot more items don't get lost in the mail. I find it remarkable that you actually receive items on a daily basis and a timely manner. Unfortunately, I just went through a similar experience and the US post office was more than helpful in trying to track the item down. It does though become a process in which you need patience for. In my case the item was a out of date out of production part that was purchased through Ebay . In the event I did purchase the insurance,  my money would've been refunded, but I really wanted the part I was in search of. On another note, I made a purchase that for some reason took 2 months to arrive at my doorstep. No one had an explanation for that and the person I bought it from sent me the item twice. I did however send the extras back. Lets just hope this is the case with your item. How does Paypal deal with an item that never arrived? Is there a way to receive a refund and try again? I use Paypal services for purchases frequently. The one complaint I do have is the fact that its an automated service. If you do have a problem its not just a phone call away for resolution. It may take a week to receive an e-mail to get your problem resolved. I think if your needs for that engine is immediate, purchasing another may be the route to take until that issue is fixed. This may also require certain insurances in addition. I generally don't purchase these options. I think of them like warranties. Why should I need them? The reality is that this may have eliminated the problems. I just hope that the engine arrives. Ken
