Title: WHADDDDDOYAAAAAWANT FOR CHRISTMAS?
Post by: Shultzie on December 09, 2009, 06:56:28 PM
What do you want Santa to bring you.... Hummm? Maybe a nice 75 degree sunshiney day with a soft 3 to 5 mph steady breeze...just enough to carry the wake away from the CLPA model.

I want my daughter to be able to finish her high school diploma studies, get into college and be able to raise her daughter without having to worry about where the next meal is coming from. She is working hard to accomplish this, and doing a wonderfull job raising her daughter, but its a stuggle, she is 21, and her daughter is 2 years old, both very precious to me!

Well, I recall a Mad Magazine or National Lampoon cartoon that depicted Nancy Reagan (I believe).  All I want for Christmas is my two front tits.

Uh, world peace?  Yeah, right.  Actually plenty of those single shot .22 rifles like they have at the carnivals and plenty of free bullets for those that have been fighting each other since time began.  And a nuclear weapon for anyone that violates the power of a .22 Short in mucking with thems of us that evolved.  Think big-assed parking lots.

I'd like one of those kindle (sp?) things that allow you to read a book on a plastic/electronic gadget that you wouldn't like to drop in the tub full of bubbles whilst enjoying a glass of Ripple and a Moon Pie.  The Catcher in the Rye comes to mind, but then Atlas Shrugged.  Oh, well.  Who is John Galt?

The clean planet I've got, save for when I venture over to West Virginia.  Over the side of the mountain, and out of sight.  Governing for the right reason is reserved for whatever I would do were I care to venture into the sewer of politics.  Forget the skeletons in my closet - I wouldn't want to get my clean sneakers dirty wading around in that muck.

Finishing college for the little one?  I just want him to finish picking up the toys in the yard so's I don't hear that clunk as a squirt gun goes shooting out the grass chute to blend with the dandelions.

Okay, I want a few CDs.  70's rock and roll.  And a unicycle.  I think doing a decent pattern from the comfort of a banana shaped seat and then casually riding back to the pits weaving in and out of other folks' stunt ships sounds like a fine idea.  And who wouldn't?

I want my son to find a job. Particularly because he may be a father. Oh, and I want a job too.   ;D

(nothing quite like being laid off 2 weeks before Christmas ... sigh...)

Edit

Uh, I should clarify (based on an email I got from a friend). I'm the one that got laid off today. My son has been looking for a job since he graduated a couple of months ago.

Fun economy we have.

I would like the best for Mark's daughter, and jobs for Randy and his son. I know well how it is to lose a job. I wish that my Blue Sky Models business would pick up so that I could fly more.

Most of all a want a "Change" in the "Top Guy" in Washington DC. I want someone who gets out of the way so our capitalist system works. A guy who does not apologize for our great country and our accomplishments that have helped the rest of the world.

I am grateful to God that I live here. I love my country.

I am just reading over the wishes and realize I have 4 wonderful children (including 2 sons who do fly with me),  5  grandchildren and another on the way ( 2 of those enjoy the planes too although one is more into FF ) , a fantastic wife who puts up with my hobbies and excentricities,  I'm semi-retired so I have some time to enjoy these things now, so, If I had a wish for Christmas, it would be for all of my friends on this forum to get their wishes and feel as lucky as I do.    I'm glad there are still some people around I can wish a Merry Christmas to without offending......

Dalton H.

***Note for Robert - As soon as I find your address in my notes I will work on your wish !!!

Every CHRISTMAS my Mother would give me a big cake pan of cinnamin rolls and always say she wished she had something better to give.  I would tell her the cinnamin rolls were the next to the best thing she could give me.  She would ask what is number one?  I would reply that her staying healthy was the best gift could receive.  It was when the doctors tried to kill her that things went down hill.  They gave her whole blood after hip surgery and it caused a heart attack.  Words right out of the doctors mouth.  Anyway, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND STAY HEALTHY.  Wish I could get another pan of Mother's cinnamin rolls.

My Dad was always busy with work or other issues when I was growing up. He did buy me my first models, but that was about it.

I learned to fly with my buddies, flew every weekend with them.

40 Years later, due to a divorce, I was living at home while attending school. My Dad had just gone through Chemo for brain cancer. He took me aside one day and asked if he could go with me to the field next time I went flying. It never happened as he didn't have enough time left.

I'd really like to take my Dad flying with me.

Good health, and much happiness for all my friends, and family.  H^^

My personal wish is to see our new great-grandson (namesake) and his family more often, and to take him flying some day.

Would also be nice to see some honesty, and responsibility in our government for a change. Unfortunately, that will never happen under our present electoral system, which can only be described as political prostitution!

Good health, and to find a cure for this foot problem that has been nagging me since thanksgiving.  Thanksfully it is going away now.

My brother is trying to sucker me into partially buying an Xbox 360, but I didn't tell him I'm saving my money for other stuff I want (aka. PA's, Aero-tigers and RO-Jetts  y1 )

But what I would really like is enough life time to build all the model kits I have accumulated over the years  y1!

Bummer Randy.  I've suffered through no less than 6 career layoffs with 2 occurring in the past 7 years (and most recent 8 months ago).

But... I found a job in this horrid economy.  No contract, no limited-term or seasonal position - a REAL job (career) with generous benefits.  Only problem it's at my 1995 salary level.  Federal government position but will ramp up to a GS-12 within 2 years.

And, I can attest how brutally competitive the market is right now.  On the positive, side, we've seen the bottom of the market and it *is* starting to improve.

Most important task is to keep the spirits up.
