I took a little break from the boards and went away and sanded something. Still need to bench trim it and the get a few flights on it before next weekends contest. Dedicated to my wife.

Looks really nice, and with a little P-51 influence in the markings. Got any more pics?
-
This is really, really nice - at the risk of revealing myself as an ignoramus, may I ask whether this is an existing design, or your own creation? Either way, more pictures would be very welcome, along with details of power unit etc.
Regards
John

Nice job Paul. Jim has me on track for mine. See you soon.

Nice job, Vector 40?
-
Yes, I'm an ignoramus. Vector 40 it is.

Yep. It's a Vector. Power is a PA .40 on a pipe. All Brodak Dope. Tried to keep it simple and light. I think I achieved the simple but missed on the light. 😕 Was shooting for 52oz but I think I missed it.
Still needs to be buffed out. (http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160608/467bc163e65016d4501c7d5504afd2e8.jpg)

The color scheme is very reminiscent of "The Blue Nosed Bastards of Bodney" P-51 group.

Well the plan was to bash this into:
http://www.vermontel.net/~tomh/images/AIRCRAFT/TYPES/P51/P51D.jpg
It was really slowing down the build. It has P51 wing tips and Stab.
I Made a P51 top block, rudder and belly scoop. But scrapped the idea.
Canopy was made by Joe A. It's a copy off his Viper.
My first time using a pipe.

Plane looks great and I like the color scheme. Hope it flies well for you.

I'd like to see the bottom and engine installation, I've been wanting to do the same.

Not much to show on the bottom. The Vector is small and the pipe just hangs out in the wind. H^^

Hi Paul,
Excellent job on your Vector. Looks like your time away from the forum was well spent. Can't wait to see it at Paducah later this summer.
Sent you a PM.
Blessings;
Larry
