Having worked as a CAD Manager and with the IT Department for 25 years I know the frustrations when it comes to changing servers, domain names, IP addresses, etc. It's no picnic.  HB~> HB~> HB~>

Congratulations and THANK YOU for your hard work and commitment in maintaining this site. Well Done!!!

yowser, yowser!  Had me scared to death and now I can breathe again.  Well done indeed...even though I don't know squat about servers etc.  All I knew is I'd lost my daily "fix".  I second Steve and Dennis' kudos (and great thanks) to you Sparky.  Your ongoing efforts to keeping Stunthangar the site of choice for a tiny but emphatic and appreciative segment of Earth's billions does not go unnoticed and, once again, welcomed!

Yep, x2 what Mr. Fancher said. I keep SH, RCG, and CEF in heavy rotation daily. I prayed the site wasn't going down like the other CL forum.

I do servers, and name registration/cert work in my DoD job, so I know the frustrations of IT maintenance. To think this is a labor of love by "Sparky" is just mind-boggling to me.

Yup, agreed. I did minicomputer systems software work several decades ago in aerospace, back during the days when real men programmed in FORTRAN, jumping to embedded IBM 360J assembly for high speed data bursts resorting to task traps, supervisor calls (SVC 1 - I/O, 2 - system clock, 6 - task manager, etc.), and not quiche eating Pascal software. Then crashed the laboratory data center mainframe when I forgot to include a library during the linking process, executed my test code at my terminal, watching the deer in the headlights look from all the other operators wondering what happened when all terminals locked up and front panel lights went solid. LL~ . Suffered through the politics and woke-ness of the workplace political system <= , pushed for IEEE 802.3 TCP/IP to network test systems when everyone else was pushing for open standards (OSI, guess what won out  y1 . Then moved on when aerospace petered out  :X ). I don't relish going back to such work. HB~>

Yes, kindheartedly agree, appreciate the labor of love Sparky does by maintaining this forum. I deleted my FB account recently, and appreciate the posting environment here much more so. H^^

Robert, I feel your pain.  I am in the computer software business and everything Robert says is true and perhaps understated.   It has become so complicated that even the people who wrote these systems can't understand them anymore and they hire mental Neanderthals to support them.  Everything changes about every 6 months and it takes a year to adapt to the change.  Everything you know is obsolete before you even understand it.  Maybe that is why there are so many tech professionals flying stunt.  We have been flying the same pattern for my entire life.  It is a refuge where becoming an "Expert" actually means something.

So, where did the donate button go?  Anybody that can do what Robert does disserves a few bucks every now and then.

Can't agree any further. I've seen changes in the industry and not all for good. WordPerfect 6.0 was a decent word processor, much better than MS Word by any means. One would start numbering paragraphs, it would pick up the pattern and continue it, didn't have to typeset paragraph indentations, it would resume your format. Legal secretaries decried the move as Word was a real pain to use, less friendly.

The older database systems were easier to use, even though they used the so called outdated VT-100 and successor terminals. There were short cut keys to jump to locations, do inputs so there were less key strokes. The newer systems require mouse use, which is slower and more time consuming. The changes to newer databases have screens more generalized, takes more screens, tabs, mouse clicks to do inputs. They look much prettier but are more labor intensive to do inputs.

The redesigned MS Office ribbon is 10 steps backward toward user friendliness, ditto with many of the user interfaces on forums. It just as though the entire industry lost its touch with the user and turned woke. Yahoo, facebook, etc. are included. Yahoo killed off its forums by going to a clunky, hard to follow forum format style, if nothing else, appeared to be a deliberate move to kill it by staving off users.

It used to be a consideration that automation was to reduce time and make things easier to save labor hours spent. Every key stroke and mouse click avoided, sped up inputs and improved accuracy. Now it is all about appearance and glitz. It is as though the gold plating of the key made it open the door easier.

Enough of my rant, glad Stunt Hangar's user interface remains user friendly and easy to follow. Regarding C/L flight, it is a way to escape technology, go back to things that require manual input, simplicity at its best. It is also why I like single channel rudder only R/C flying, simplicity at its best and requires skill to stunt.

Agreed, take out lunch or dinner is easily $20 or more for the wife and I. One can spare such. If all who aren't contributing yet gave just that much would make Stunt Hangar sustainable.

There seems to be some disturbance in the internet force. We are still running on the old server. So I am manually moving files in the Stunt Hangar build from the backup I have on my laptop to the new server. This is the only way I can see doing this is to Build a new SH on www.stunthangar.com then get it up and running. After testing for function redirecting www.stunthanger.com to it. Notice the name change. I have 3 months left to do this. There may be a few hiccups but rest assured I am on it.
