cl flying in Illinois
« on: August 14, 2013, 06:42:52 PM »
Just wanted to ask if there is a club or flying sight around Rockford Ill. My brother, sisters and mom live up there,I live in NC and every couple years we try to make it up there.I would love to bring the stuff for a contest during my visit or just find someone to fly with.      Thanks, Jim

Art Johnson is from Rockford and flies CL. There was a club back in the day, but I don't know how many are left besides Art.

The field my club uses is about 1-1/4 hour drive east of Rockford where I-90 and Route 53 meet. There are 3 flying circles there but we usually maintain only 1 or 2 unless there is a contest. The club is quite active and we are usually there on Thursday evenings, Saturday and Sunday mornings. PM me for driving directions if interested?

Come down to Paducah KY for our WKSI contest this weekend.  Go to www.paducahaeromodelers.com for maps and flyers.
