We had a Wonderfully Windy flying day....
« on: April 05, 2015, 06:51:04 AM »
As the final days wind down on our flying site trying to get out to fly as much as possible. The April winds were blowing but still we flew. I got some trimming done and flew 4 different planes. The ARF Nobler, Prowler, Plan B and Bi-Slob. Oh.....I got it bad.
Keith and Wayne came out and flew a wee bit. Bob stopped by. New member Tom came by with his son Grant.

A tumbleweed blows across the forum..........into the vast emptiness.
An elephant walks towards the boneyard.
And the wind cries Mary.      Or Darlene.

Shug,

You put time into these videos and don't think it's not appreciated.

I for one, enjoy them.

You have quite a few different models and you handle them all quite well.  H^^

Well thankee Charles.
I am trying to promote this hobby that everyone says is dying by doing these videos and putting them out on You Tube for my subscribers. I have over 32,000 subscribers currently and some but not all like to see the cl videos. I get comments on some everyday on various control line vids so maybe it will have an effect on the hobby in some small way. It is all I have to offer. Well, that and unbrideled enthusiasm for flying control line.
Maybe I post too many on her. Not sure. Time will tell.

Shug

Below are some comments on this video from You Tube...so folks are watching. 1,150 views which is way less than my hammock backpacking videos but views all the same.
If they even draw a few in I feel good about it.

I have a brand new Nobler hanging in my shop and after seeing yours fly, I need to fly the dust off of mine now that the weather is warming up.

After watching you do this for almost a year now, and seeing all your planes and everyone else's planes, I really like that bi-slob.  It is slow, has awesome power to weight and just looks so cool when you hang it on its prop. It just looks like it is a ton of fun.  Be hard not to go Saito 4 stroke though...

+Tenspeed TheBikeHanger The Bi-Slob is it's own thing. A break from the stunt practice. Finally getting that 4 stroke on Plan B broken in and set right. Props, tank height. neddle settings......

Have you ever had to abort while flying the plan B ?
 Reply  ·

shugemery 1 day ago
+vagabond88817 You have to fly them until the engine quits. They usually abort on us rather than us  on them.

I have built a few RC balsa kits. There is a great feeling of satisfaction in seeing the finished plane, and if they fly good... well that's a bonus! Your planes look and fly great. BTW I got a email that my Woo Buddy shirt has been shipped!

I too like watching your videos of camping and CL planes.   For me though my camping is a Motel 8 or any reasonable priced motel.  Went camping with my son and the scouts one year.  It was cold, but we were prepared.   It was fun. We have stayed in a camper at SIG contest and almost got blowed away a couple of years.    What was funny was one of the guys didn't stake his tent and was trapped inside against the fence.   I used to walk the woods and go hunting when I was so much younger,  but now it's the nearest Steak-n-shake or Denny's.

Shug, you are a wonderful ambassador for our sport with a diverse audience. So, no you do not post too much on the forums. I don't spend as much time here lately, because I've been building and flying a lot, but I always hope to see your contributions when I drop in. Thanks for the entertainment.

Agreed. I've watched Shug compile video more than a few times at our field now. It amazes me the quality he comes up with for just running around with a little digital camera, I believe the very same one that gets a plane ride on occasion. Great stuff. y1
