Wayback Machine AP at the Worlds?
« on: August 28, 2024, 12:11:01 PM »

Sometimes I look at old post on Stuka Stunt. Just to see what people were talking about. I stumbled onto this thread. Seems back in the day AP was awarded at the Worlds?
What year did it stop?

It's a shame it's gone or at least not easier to find access. There was a lot of history and information on there long before Stunthangar, and a lot of stuff by people in the hobby that have not been with us in a long time. I tend to forget the Wayback site is there.

Wish there was a way to down load it and dump it somewhere.

There might be a glimmer of hope.

Stay tuned…… something might be happening. 🤓

Last I heard of him was maybe 15 years ago, he was still flying in Indonesia, I think.

Isky's board was really something, that was the wild west of the internet forum, and there were some very strange guys on there from time to time. Unlike the rest of us, who are perfectly normal, naturally.

A lot of the early tuned pipe stuff wound up on the Compuserve forum, that was before Isky. RCO came along and the software and presentation was far superior, about like now, and it was run by GMA himself, so a lot of appeal. SSW overlapped RCO but became the only game in down when RCO bombed out.

Does anyone remember the URL?
Maybe it’s on the wayback machine too.

I remember seeing him post on Stuka Stunt, I think it was, after he returned home and was working at a lab that had lots of testing equipment and electron micro scopes, etc. he was looking for people to send him old glow plugs that they were sure of their origin and brand so he could analyze the elements for their exact make up and alloy. Sounded like a really interesting project, but I don't recall him ever posting any results. I met him at a NATS and some local combat contests, maybe even the SIG contests back in the early 90's. Nice guy and very knowledgeable on a lot of model related subjects.
