I haven't reported much lately as my father-in-law became quite ill for a few months and then passed away suddenly on February 5th, the day after his 73rd birthday.
Well tonight at Warren Walker's Man-Cave Warren made Mexican food. I wasn't paying attention to the cooking tonight because Larry Renger taught me how to use his Derek Moran line clip bender from Lee Machine. So I was just a wire-bendin' fool. Warren cooked spiced beef and chicken for the street tacos, of course there was plenty of chopped green onions, white onions, and cilantro, plus a big TUB of guacamole, and several flavors and heat-levels of salsa. Warren also made a couple trays of enchiladas, mild and OMG, a pot of Spanish rice and another pot of refried beans. I asked about the Lard content of the beans. Warren said no lard and no oil. They were quite tasty. Warren has a neat little table-top gas-powered flat-top which he used to make in his sheet metal shop and sell to lucky buyers. It did a great job cooking the tortillas.
Larry Renger was finishing up another ET-1 trainer. We have been asked by HSS, the Harbor Soaring Society, to run some CL training inside an airplane hangar at the Orange County Fairgrounds during the Imagology (aka Youth Expo) event. John Wright is still plugging away at his Ringmaster for the upcoming VSC. Another attendee lately has been flying a KA-10, but tonight he was seen carrying a ballistic nylon carry-bag said to hold a customized AR-15. KA-10, AR-15, anything like an SV-11??? So then Warren whipped out an enormous Flan and we got out sugar on. Mike Alurac has 300 +/- glow plugs left behind when Rich Von Lopez departed. Thunderbolt and McCoy hot plugs are $20 for 10 pieces but only if you come to the Man-Cave to buy them. Mike Alurac also showed up with my club t-shirt in hand, which only took 3 years.
Finally the star guest was my daughter's rescue puppy. Mocha is almost a year old and appears to be mostly Pit Bull or "Pittie" and part Spaniel. She is a doll although sometimes clumsy and not too bright or maybe not playing with a full deck yet. She is a total sweetheart and does not have an aggressive bone in her body. She is able to wash my daughter's face with one sloppy swipe of her 3-pound tongue, especially if Leanna is sound asleep.
More next time...
