If you want a birds eye view try this link.
This is way better then google earth. Not sure if they cover the globe yet. But most places I have seen they zoom in real close.

I can only imagine just what kind of bumps n' burbles..n' gurgles...the wind blowing through those trees cause our Leo Mehl's purty stunt models to go through?

Shultzie,

Yea, what it doesn't show you is the converging freeways just off the right side (north) of the picture with the high berm and the trees on that side of the circle. Not a problem last weekend since it was pretty much dead calm (and some interesting turbulence), but I've flown there in high winds before. It can be rather interesting, in the Chinese proverb sort of way.

It was also loads of fun flying in a driving rainstorm on Saturday. At least the paved circle drains well.

Hi Don,

At the contest last weekend it was gorgeous on Friday, marginal on Saturday morning and rained all afternoon.Got progressively worse as the day went on. We got one round in for Classic, but pretty much everyone bailed on the second round except Greg Hart. It was great watching Greg out there flying a pattern in a driving rain storm while we stood under cover. The judges were also sitting under cover. Sorry Greg, down wind is now directed to be opposite us (no wind to speak of). It was bad enough that during my official flight, the control surfaces swelled slightly and cause them to hit the fairings as the control surfaces past neutral. Made for an interesting flight. Teach me to get clever with the fit..

Sunday was partly cloudy and dead calm all day. Other than having to do maneuvers while walking backward (tough for those of us that can't walk and chew gum at the same time), it was a beautiful day. A great turnout and many, many beautiful airplanes.

Yup thats why the web feet. My shoes and socks were quit wet when I got home. Steve helmick and I should have our heads examined for we are a couple of demented pupies judging all day without enough rain gear and warm clothes. But we did have high spirits and did a lot of joking. We also found out how dedicated to this modeling thing. Our phisical being was damaged but our spirits were not broken. Everyone had a good time and this group is like one happy family. Two and a half days of acceptible weather out of three is not bad.

  That is Richard Entwhistle at the edge of the field at Delta Park setting up his big yellow plane.  I can even make out our stunt dog Nick with him.

You can see the bare spot on the grass where you guys take off from on the grass circle.

Instructions for the G-Man.

Double click on the area you want to zoom in on. Keep zooming in until you get close.
JPEG 1.

One you get over the area, click on the Birds eye view icon. Then you can zoom in even more, and also change the direction of the view.

So guess who's house that is that I used in my example. Check out the circles in the back yard. Could not get them all to fit in the pic.

I am not 100% sure but I think this house will be covered up with pilots the second week of June.
