Warbird Alley (not by choice)
« on: July 19, 2009, 09:47:59 PM »
well one thing was by choice - I started building Brodak Spitfire kit  - to get back in to the mood.....got it mostly built - see pic (prior to ANY sanding)

then I was reminded that I had an obligation to a kit manufacturer to produce a build article forhis Mosquito kit - so the Spitfire is on the back bench and hte mossie is up to this stage after the weekend

maybe I should build a Mustang next HA HA

I'd have to talk to Patrick about the pointy tip version...can't abide the clipped tips, even tho much more practical. At least the Malcom hood is there...but unfortunately, the molded in canopy framework is also there.
Hate it! <SIGH!> If that was scaled up, it would stick up about 2" above the surface of the canopy. That's just wrong!   R%%%% Steve

Your spit isnt the only warbird languishing about waiting for completion, I have a bf 109 waiting to get detailed and painted ( magnum 53 power) and a profile bf 109 waiting for flaps and finishing, and Pat Johnston has his spitfire in clear dope as well,, ah well, winter is coming
For years the rat race had me going around in circles, Now I do it for fun!

pinecone- the kit is by Eric Rule from RSM - www.rsmdistribution.com

nice kit - just needs a build article - which is what I am doing now.....will have it finished by 3rd August.

Mark, it is winter down here in NZ at the moment - hence the building.......I still have a B25 that is half complete too.....SHEESH!!!

Great stuff Wynn, but what's the latest on the B-25? You had started one hadn't you? Just asking, REALLY interested in checking that one out.

The Sptifire looks good Wynn.  I'm in Stunt Alley, I normally build one plane over the course of the winter, and right now I'm building an Oriental Plus and a Cobra, both of them stunt designs so I guess you could call it stunt alley.

grandpa has two P-51s, one he is refinishing, and another one that has been unflown, finished, and then stripped, then had to take the wing out because of a fault in the wing, and now is in the process of finishing.  He also has a Wicked Witch under construction and is reconstructing his big job with a new fuselage.

we moved cities last year for work and all my models were broken by the movers.....they did not spare ONE of them!!!!

so the B-25 is still around - just has been re-kitted somewhat  ''

Sure hate to hear you lost your fleet Wynn.

We got move a few times by movers and we discovered that you never ever let them pack and move anything you do not want broken or lost.

Lee,

Article will be on the RSM website - it will be better than the LARK one as I have a better format for it - watch for it the first weeek in August..!!!!!!

Winter here - we are bewtween 35 & 50 degrees in your scale at the moment - which is not all that bad. When the sun is out is actually quite pleasant.
