Title: Walter Umland's Kit list
Post by: Jay on June 18, 2024, 07:37:42 PM
I was told that Walter Umland made an Impact kit at one time.
Does anyone know if this is true?
Also does anyone have a list of the kits that he did make?
Thanks guys
Jay

Walter never did an Impact kit.. One was done by the Moon brothers,  UHP, I still have it.
Walts first kit was the Super Duper Zilch, he did F5F, Spitfire, Sea Fire, Trophy Trainer, 660 Stiletto, profile Stiletto, USA 1, Volunteer, Galloping Comedian, Ringmaster Imperial, International Stunt winner, several llimited production such as the Howard Ike,  and more I cannot think of yet.

He also kitted the Dick Perry MO-1 profile carrier, the Super Combat Streak, Excaliber and Cobra. All great kits!

Unfortunately, the Predator kit never got to the finish line.  He got close but his health got in the way.

Walter did an electric conversing fuselage kit for the 576 Ringmaster.  He actually did a one of a kind for me.  I crashed the 576 and destroyed the fues but the wing survived.  Walter cut me a replacement  electric fuselage.   Walter was one of the best in our hobby.

Walter had me do the plans for his version of the Sterling Spitfire Stunter. It turned out pretty good.

HI Paul.. Walter was very ill and the wing sat for months. I did what little I could. I ended up with most of the "kit".  Ronnie Thomson  got the wing and parts, but I am not sure if he used the same fuselage. I do know he finished a model he called the Predator, maybe because of the wing. If you are at the Nats, so is he. H^^  He is doing free flight as well as CLPA.
