Walter Umland

I'm new here folks. Walter made me a commemorative Supermarine Spitfire kit some 10 yrs or so back. I'm retired so I thought I'd get it out and start building it.
I also thought it might be nice to get another of his kits. Does anyone know what happened to Walter Umland ?

I believe Walter is still among us, but had had serious health issues and no longer cutting kits and hasn't for quite a while.. He did that for a long time and had a considerable catalog of kits that he did on a order basis, meaning that if there was enough interest, you submitted your name to reserve your kit, and then that was it. I don't think he went back and resumed producing any of them later on. It would be interesting if a complete listing of everything he produced could be posted some where just for reference purposes. I'm sure of all the kits he did manage to produce, there are some that did not get built yet and some owners might be coerced to parting with them.
  Type at you later,

Walter was a member of Huntsville Alabama NACA.  He is in very bad health.  He is no longer cutting kits.  He has or is trying to sell his laser cutting equipment.  His eMail address is no longer viable.   His kits were the best.  He did an E conversion kit of the 576 Ringmaster for me.  It was spot on. We truly miss Walter.

My first airplane build as a 12 to 14 year old was a Top Flite Hurricane with a Fox .35 Stunt. I always wanted an accurate looking Spitfire.
I was so happy when I found Walter and he made me a beautiful looking Spitfire kit. When I finish it, it will hang
in a place of Honor. I hope someone picks up where he left off.
