Title: Waiex, With Paint
Post by: Tim Wescott on September 14, 2010, 07:39:22 PM
It'll get a black or charcoal gray canopy and some red trim (not to mention yellow Ultracoat on the wings and tail) once the yellow has had a chance to dry a bit.

Paint and covering, but not on the flaps & elevators yet.

It doesn't show in the picture, but the paint is closer to lemon yellow, the Ultracoat closer to buttercup.  Dunno if I'm going to do anything about it -- maybe I'll just let the thing get dirty.  While I'd be overjoyed if it lived a long and healthy life, I rather suspect it's going to die young, or at least suffer from a maiming or two.  If it manages to teach me the whole beginner's pattern that'll be a big big plus.

It'll get a canopy painted on, and if I get ambitious some nifty silver and red trim.  But first I have to give the paint another day or two to harden up.

I'm getting excited.  It's a good thing we're in for a week of rain -- if we weren't I probably wouldn't give the Rustoleum long enough to dry out.

I just need to cover the flaps, assemble, clean up the engine and make a venturi for it -- then go fly!
