Wonderful info and pictures. Thank you so much. You put a lot of hard work in to VSC and I am sure into getting all the info to go along. That really makes it interesting for us who can not be there.

The couples at the banquet was a really nice touch. So many we have not seen for several years. Thank you again.

I'm impressed! We haven't had such complete detailed VSC coverage in a long time.

I used to take photos at VSC, but the hard part is matching the pictures with my notes and getting everything sorted out.

Bart came very close to a 1st in the ignition event. I see he had the best model available for the job. Congratulations to all 6 in the ignition event. All scores were so close!

My first VSC experience was a very enjoyable time. I have to say Mr Jim and the crew at VSC we’re able to pull off a great contest. I hope to be back next year and maybe fly in a couple more events. The people who fly at this site regular helped me out with some issues I was having with the changes in conditions that I was not use to. Joe Gilbert told me to bring fuel with more nitro which I did, but that was not all I needed. Both of the planes that I brought were lacking the drive that I had at home with the first couple flights I made additional nitro helped with this but in both cases I had to put a different prop on both airplanes. Anyone who is considering going to VSC for the first time should consider this. To all who attended this contest I thank you for the experience. To anyone who hasn’t been here I recommend that you try to make it there, you won’t be disappointed.

And just so we never forget Mike Keville who stayed up one night to dream up the idea. The rest is history as they say. It has brought countless pleasure to many people which sad to say many are not with us anymore. But, the dream lives on.

I have been modeling since the 40's and have flown R/C Pattern at the NATS, but I never enjoyed anything I have ever done in modeling more than VSC. There is something happens there that no one can really explain. May be, that is what it is, a happening more than a contest or a contest with in a happening. There is nothing quite like it.

Jim, I notice that there were a few awards not given out. What happened to the Bob Palmer, Jack Sheeks, and the Bob Dailey awards? Are they not given out any longer?

Clint – The Bob Palmer and Jack Sheeks awards have been retired. Unfortunately there were years where no examples of those airplanes appeared at the field. The Jack Sheeks award was presented to Jack a few years ago. There has never been no such thing as the Bob Dailey award at VSC.

I'm sorry, I was going off memory. I thought the I beam award was bob Dailey. Anyway, I didn't see that award.

Btw, I'm going make every effort to return to VSC next year.

Edit: it's too bad about the Palmer and Sheeks awards. So many awesome planes to choose from.

The best I-Beam award was won by Tom McClain for his Tucker 4. It was not listed due to a typo error. That is now corrected.

Unfortunatly the I-beam award is going to be discontinued. We only award it once to any single model. While there are quite a few I-beamers competing at VSC, the are very few NEW ones that appear.

Got it. I didn't realize that particular model design wasn't eligible to win more than once.

Clint - It is not a particular model DESIGN that cannot win more than twice. It is a particular MODEL.

Example - Both Bob McDonald and I have won the award with USA-1 airplanes.
Neither of our USA-1's would be eligible to win again.

An individual can win more than once, but must do it with different airplanes. Bob McDonald has won 5 times!

Oh, I see. Well that makes more sense anyway. I hate to see that award disappear. I Absolutely love I-beam models (but so far I’ve only built one, myself).
