Yeah I have a lot of them but I'm having camera problems right now...Ain't electronics wonderful?  If I can get some off of the card and onto my computer I'll post them.
I took pictures of all the classic airplanes last night at the judging session.

Sorry!

PS:  Some very high scores posted today in Classic!

Are you taking the card out of the camera to download the pictures? I've never done that, and used the patch cord for all 4 of the digital cameras I've had. You'll probably find the cable still in the box! I don't see any reason to handle the SD memory card if I don't have to...and besides, the card reader in my computer has never worked at all. Point is, that if the problem is with your card reader, you can work around that.  H^^ Steve

Yeah but unfortunately the camera (A Nikon D3000) is disfunctional right now, so I had to take the card out and use a separate reader...I've got some done now and will post them.
The first ones are of the Classic entries at appearance judging.  It takes quite a while to accomplish all the transferring and resizing so I'll have to wait till tomorrow for some of them.
I did manage to get them all on my computer for now!
I've used this reader before it's simply slower.

Randy, great photos! Did you happen to get a shot of the profile that flew in circle 1 yesterday(Thursday)? I think it might have been an oriental profile? Metallic burgundy and silver with clear dope over natural silkspan on the wings.

Hi Jim,
Yes I did get a photo;  Actually it's a Trophy Trainer by Tom Warden.  I didn't have much luck at finding out the name of the flier yet however but I'll show a picture here anyway.

I do have more photos to post but, need to find time to do it...Life gets in the way of important things sometimes...Sorry!  n~ HB~>

Whoever did that "Spiderman" Gieseke Nobler is a sick human being. I mean that in the most complimentary way! Awesome job! That right there is an example of "Originality".  I hope it's painted on, but even if it isn't, it's certainly different and kewl!  ;D Steve

I didn't catch his name (someone told me, but I can't remember it).  I think he's from New Mexico.  At any rate, yes, it's a beautiful and artistic Gieseke Nobler.

I was here, but as a spectator. Jim Hoffman said I get "appearance points". Nice weather, not too hot and not too windy. Very cool. I had a great time and very low stress since I was only watching.   ;D

His pattern looks a lot better than mine even though he started the overhead 8 on the downwind side.

This, of course, is my Floyd Carter "Wildman 60", powered by an Orwick 64. John McCollum built a piston/cylinder for it. Keeping plugs clean is an ongoing problem..... never was a problem "way back when", I'm told. I'll be checking out Jim Kraft's Coleman/Outboard Motor Oil fuel recipe soon.

Dick Wolsey, just before he suddenly passed away, told me to watch my mailbox, and shortly thereafter, a "Wildman" kit that he had specially cut for him arrived at my house. I got it ready for the VSC, but Dick wasn't there to see it fly. It is a wonderful plane to fly, smooth and dependable. Gaylord Elling has one for OTS, Richard Oliver has a wing for one ready to go. To me, they just look "right".

I tried to build this plane such that it would be just as it would appear in 1950, and since that's when I began building planes, it came fairly easily to me. No car paint, no clear, Plain Jane. I greatly appreciate whoever decides things like the "Spirit of '46" award, for my ship has won it twice, even though it's quite homely.  :)

dg

Edit: Hey, don't get me wrong....they don't HAVE to be homely. Gaylord Elling's "Wildman" is a real beauty. It was even picked to adorn this year's VSC T-Shirt!

Sorry Floyd...
I did take a number of pictures during the OT Ignition event but my fancy expensive digital Nikon camera malfunctioned and they were lost.  There is a problem with the card and I may be able to retrieve them yet but I need some different software to examine the card.  A friend of mine at the University here is a pro and is going to try to retrieve them for me but He's been out of town.  Maybe sometine later in the week.  I was able to retrieve most of the pictures myself but not the ones taken on that particular day.

Damded Electronic Stuff anyway!!  Sometimes I miss my old Hasselblads  Even if the "film" was a pain!

Well I definitely thought it best represented the Era of OT Ignition Airplanes...It wasn't a beauty contest but a choice of the best representation of that era!
