Title: VSC
Post by: Randy Powell on November 09, 2016, 12:19:44 PM
So, I noticed that the dates for VSC changed to March 7-11th. Previously it was the next week. Unfortunately, I had reservations for the original week and the place I stay books up fast. You have to get in 9 month previous to the date you want. So, looks like no VSC for me this year due to the date change.

Wondered if others were in this spot.

Randy,
I just got a room at the contest hotel. $80. Mention Vintage Stunt Championship for the discount.

What's wrong with the host hotel? Or any of the other dozen places to stay in the area?

Clint,

We belong to an outfit that is sort of a combination of a time share and vacation club. We get the accommodations, plane tickets and rental car in a deal. Makes it affordable to go to things like VSC. The down side is you have to reserve stuff well in advance and they are most likely to be well full if you wait too long to book. So, we set it all up months ago when the original dates were released. Since they changed the dates, nothing is available for the new week. Maybe next year.

Why the change in dates?   After this past year I will take my chances on motels.  At one of the Mid-America NATS I stayed in one in which I got the last single room.  A couple of young ladies got the last double.  The clerk ask if the single was enough for me.  I then asked does it have a bed, a good shower, restroom and was told it did.  Being an event director didn't leave much time for TV.

I was contacted by Jim Hoffman. He said that the dates were set way back and that I misunderstood. That is perhaps true. I wanted to make sure that no one thought that this was somehow Jim's or others fault. I should have confirmed the dates earlier. This was on me.

Oh well, there's always next year.
