Putting a price on a PA ship for insurance purposes

Anybody out there had to put a price on a plane for insurance purposes?

  Whitely did it at one point, and now you have the Yatsenko models as a comp, so $4000 or so?

I find it strange you would want to insure a model.  For what purpose?  Fire?  Theft?  That would be highly unlikely. I doubt any insurance co. would consider insurance against crash damage.

That is a reasonable figure and what I was looking for.  I just got off of the phone with our adjuster and as luck would have it,  he comes from an RC family so he knows what goes into them.  I will confirm this with everybody  when I get the check but he said that a price from a reputable builder for a similar plane would qualify.  Keep in mind that our planes are covered under the "contents" part of a policy.  Thank God that my agent talked me into full replacement cost a couple of years ago.
