Title: Vortex prop spinners
Post by: Gordon Tarbell on February 25, 2022, 02:13:50 PM
Any one out there in Stunt Hanger land have any luck contacting Dunn industries (New home for Vortex spinners) ? The new web site lists no email address and no phone number. I need to get the ultimate series in a 1 3/4" dia. spinner  for a RoJett  . Went to local hobby shop and when I mentioned Vortex they just threw their hands into the air and said they give up. Vortex appears to be the only ones making a three blade needle nose style spinner that can be ordered to fit a 13" four pitch prop it would be custom at that since two blade only is standard.

Gordon - you might try this e-bay listing.

They do, in fact list a 1.75 inch, 3 blade spinner.

  https://www.ebay.com/itm/113823727842?hash=item1a806c40e2:g:7BIAAOSwtv5dMXQQ

I have used their products and they're excellent.

No thanks on the chinese stuff on ebay. Yes they do offer a 1.75 dia. but not the right shape . Vortech has the correct shape but nearly impossible to communicate with. I will attack from different angle until I get through.

It is worth the time to look at their website.   They show many spinners, different shapes, different materials.  2-blade and 3-blade cutouts.  Some of their carbon spinners have no cutouts.  Prices are reasonable.  At least the several times I ordered their spinners, shipping was reasonable and quick given where they came from.

Those carbon spinners on their website look suspiciously like the spinners I ordered off EBay.
When they arrived I opened the box and they went instantly into the trash.
The quality was SO poor they didn't last 30 seconds....uggghh

I have received as many as a dozen carbon spinners directly from this supplier of different sizes and shapes.  Some with aluminum back plates, some with carbon back plates.   I have not hesitated to use them.  They run true and I have not had any problem with them.  The aluminum spinners are as well made as most you can get from any other supplier.  The carbon spinners are well made and quite light compared to any aluminum spinner of similar size and shape.

(The only spinners I have that are better than anything else are those that come from Randy at Aero Products.)

I did try the button that says email at the top of their page , It directs me to a page to sign up for a new email account. No thanks. I already have an email account. I will try the two Vortech dealers mentioned on here next   No Chinese stuff for Me. At my age I know what I want and am determined not to settle for less.

Gordon, when I hit the email button it takes me to Outlook.  Their email is: spinners@fuse.net, try that, maybe you don't use Outlook on your computer as the site assumes.  I can also put a 1-3/4" Ultimate spinner in my basket and select custom slotting for an additional $10.00.  It asks me for prop and engine type and gives me a total of $52.99 plus shipping.  I backed out of it at that point: https://www.dunnindustrial.net/product/1-3-4-ultimate-2-blade/30?cs=true&cst=custom
