Visited a Special Place today
« on: May 17, 2018, 08:06:44 PM »
Doing a job in Houston and just so happen to be 5 minutes down the road from Scobee Field!!!

Knocked off early and went ride out there to check the place out.

Noone was on the circles but I can just tell that next weekends event is going to be a good one!!!

Looking forward for the Bill Rutherford Memorial Stunt Contest next weekend!!

That is a great looking facility! It looks like the pads are concrete? Wonderful....!!!  Sure hope it is getting a lot of use.

James, I've been to contests at Scobee and it is such a nice facility, but it has been a looong time since I was there. Mid 80's I think. Thanks for posting the pics! Brought back some great memories. I would make the trip next weekend but I am going to Dallas for a contest on June 9th / 10th and can't do both so close together. Hope you have a great time and come home with some hardware!(Trophy's)   :-)

Wow! Those City fathers really know how to act and think! We could use some of that farsighted-ness here on the right coast! The only one out here is John Brodak---so far!

I’ve heard it’s a great facility. I have several friends that fly 3D profiles at that club. They used to host a good Profile flyin down there. I always wanted to go but never made the trip.

Yeah, very nice field.

A sign at the outside about 200 ft from the circles saying No Spectators beyond this point seems a bit extreme however.  What other extreme rules do they have! HHmmmmmm…

Wonder how long it'll be before the "Drone Idiots" Claim half of the field.  They recently got about a third of ours here in Tucson!

It is even much more impressive when you think that in the last decade that field has been under water for months at a time
