Visit to Brownies Hobby Shop!
« on: August 06, 2016, 11:29:57 AM »
Had a wonderful visit to Brownies Pro and Sports Hobby shop on Staten Island.  Owner John could not have been nicer and really knew his stuff!  Part old time hobby shop and part museum-I'll definitely be back!  Highly recommend stopping by, see the photos attached.

Not too many shops left like that.  Thanks for the picks.

Glad to see that it remains open .  If my memory serves me, the first time I visited (1969)  George Brown's establishment, it was in the basement of his home. We shot the bull until the wee hours of the morning.
For those who don't know, the Browns were a family of speed flyers - George's kids- "Slugger" and Marylou were tops in the field.
I remember them sweeping speed events in  the 60s and  coming home with   the meet Grand Champion Award.
