Don't think I'd ever seen this before. Would make for a common project with a unique twist

Brings back memories. The good old days. ;D

"It was the night before Christmas..."

It wasn't actually, that was a joke.  LL~

I was in Maine, 1994 I believe, had my Lake Amphibian, friends and other seaplane pilots, we were at a seaplane fun fly.

I landed my Lake at the airport, they had a shuttle, couple of minutes.

A great day of seaplane aviation and a bunch of really nice guys. Idea sharing and plenty to learn.

"When all through the house..."  LL~

There was this ramp with what looked like a dead DC3 on floats. Really, it sat there all day.

It was announced that "Everyone get out of the way of the ramp."

And everyone did.

Two guys climbed into the side of the aircraft and fired it up!

Holy @#$%! As the pilot rolled the thing down the ramp, we could look up at wing tips.

Yes, they circled the lake twice!  #^

1996 there was one at Lantana. Possibly the same one?

1965 I flew as a passenger on one owned by the Ozark Airlines to Millington TN.

Just to see a girl.

Made this trip many times.

DC3 as glider and converted to turbine, I believe there was also a jet conversion. All purpose airplanes.

Back in 1990-1991 Manchester airport in Manchester, N.H. put on some breathtaking airshows focusing on WWII 'heavy iron'. One of the regulars was DC3 N130Q on floats. The story was that the floats were found, still crated, in the back of a hangar. Folsom Air Service on Moosehead Lake in Greenville, Maine then fitted them to N130Q. I remember seeing it one or two years after that at various airshows and then it disappeared from the circuit. Folsom's is now Currier's Flying Service (flying DH Beavers), they may know what happened to it.

Wow. Words cannot explain how I feel about this. I never would have thought or envisioned a DC-3 on floats!

I have flown in the DC-3 "Lady Luck" exactly 4 times. I never landed in the airplane though. I got out every time.
