Paul Delgatto B-25

 I understand that someone had a Paul Delgatto design B-25 Mitchell at VSC a while back, maybe like 4-6 years ago? Does anyone have any pictures of that model, or any other ones of that design? I've got the full size plans and copies of the old magazine article, but I'd really like to get a good look at a finished one.

It was Leroy Black Jr. who built and flew the model.  The plans are available through AMA in their plans department.

I, too, would like to see pictures of a finished model (other than the ones in the magazine article).  I still haven't totally figured out the "weighted aileron" on the outboard wing.

One of my flying buddies in Perryville MO built the model from plans when they first came out.  It was powered by the same McCoy 19's as listed in the original model.  I have four OS Max 20's with Byron Barker mods to fly one of these B-25's but the urge to build one yet has not reached an apex.  I also have about three sets of cowls for the engines in the my collection.  Any good stunt type .20 to .25 would work well.

Thank you for posting those shots and reminding me which VSC Leroy brought the B-25 to fly.  I will ask Charlie Reeves to allow me to copy and post his shot of Leroy and the B-25.  I would like to build mine as Iron Laden Maiden which has the large Parrot head on the nose.

 I bought my plans out of an assortment from someone at VSC in 2007. I've got copies of the mag article too but I have no way to scan it. I could make copies and mail it but honestly you won't get much out of it.

This group is also handling several of my designs which Model Airplane News is no longer selling.  The Pirata is one of them,  and I will give them permission to also sell the Flying Red Horse, the Folkert's SK-4 and the Buccaneer 46 which are all Nostalgia legal.  The Scimitar 560 was published in MAN in 1984 and will be Nostalgia legal within two years.  It was built and flown in 1982.  The Scimitar 560 was the last control line model published by MAN.

 As far as the B-24 goes, I've actually considered it. It's got way to high of an aspect ratio wing on it to end up with a good, scale looking, stunter though.

 Another twin I keep thinking about that could and would work with a practically exact scale outline would be the Heinkel HE-111. Take a good look at a top view sometime, you could just enlarge the stab-elevator area a bit and run with it. PJ can one-up himself and tackle the HE-111Z, the siamesed five engine glider tow version.

Yep, you would have to take a few liberties with the B-24, much like Del Gatto did with the B-25.  Still, you could fake it real well with a pretty good looking stunter as the end result.

The He-111 would make a great project, I think.  Maybe you could do one like your PBY.....

Maybe he could just do a Condor instead.

be aware the the parts on the plans are not all to the correct scale in relation to each other - particularly the ribs - you should stack sand them - not use the individual ones on the plan.........ask me how I know

There was a nice profile B-24 in stunt news some years ago ,
Theres also a Commie Petlyakov Pe 8 4 engined thing , similar
to a B-17 , Was originally 5 engined. Fifth drove supercharger
 for other engines, inline V-12s , Later ones had M-82 radials .
